The place to go...when in the city....but get in early if you want a parking spot. A nice place to wander round on a sunny day with a good selection of eaterys....again if you get in early enough. A very busy place, popular with families.

This would be the highlight of my visit. The town basin has lots of different activities and there are a few places you can eat at but the highlight is the loop walk. It is an easy 4.2 km stroll. It has sculptures and interesting information boards dotted around the circuit. Awesome

Great cafes/Bars and restaurants and quirky wee shops to browse in. The Harbour has a great feeling of tranquillity about it and a trip on the boat around inner waterways a must.

We found the place almost by accident. The rain had been pelting as we drove north and we needed a break. Whangarei drew us in and there it was. A boat harbour, cafes, ice cream and lovely galleries. I can really recommend the Bach Gallery especially. Really nice range of art and fabulously helpful and friendly staff. A short visit... More

We got there in the pouring rain and still enjoyed the walk along the harbour. There are plenty of lovely places to eat and arts and crafts shops, gift shops, ice-cream, etc. There's even a donation bucket for a Hundertwasser museum (which would be brilliant).

You have a great selection of shops to choose from and also there are quite a few cafes and restaurants you can eat from or just have coffee and cake. The Loop is a great walk and it takes approx 45 - 60 mins

You just have to do the walk around the town basin and out to the bridges. Sculpture park on one side which is very interesting and on the other close to the water. Plenty of places for a drink or bite to eat st the town basin.

Lots to see and do nice cafe's dotted along the harbour view, all serving different food. From a beautiful coffee to a full blown meal. Children friendly. The park is great, well maintained. A perfect family day
