We got excellent guidance on what to do, including checking whether jet-boat tours were running, and which would be best for us.

The I-SITE office is well worth visiting as a staring point for your time in Whanganui. Very helpful friendly service. Lots of information available. There is a separate quiet room with free internet available so an excellent place to catch up with emails or for planning future travel. Its position beside the river is a bonus. Also right beside a... More

Got offered all the info we wanted for the places we wanted and asked about anything else. Nice to be given information that is extra and including the local touch, makes going to info... More

Always a great place to take visitors to Whanganui - as a resident I pop in once a month to check the upcoming events and the Sargent Art Gallery display upstairs.

We dropped in to this location and we're given very good service. We were interested in what we could do in Whanganui, walking, cycling, kayaking, and directions to Taumarunui, our next stop. We were told about the Whanganui River Road that had a very scenic quality with some historic sites along the way. Next door to the I-Site is a... More

This centre and the attached coffee shop is a one-stop information centre. Situated in the older part of town, by the river, with galleries, converted factories and very pleasant walk along the river, we found it a great way to get the best out of our stay at this delightful town.

The relief model showing the river coming down the mountains is a good start. The staff are very helpful too.
