We have visited this park several times at different times of the year. Ample parking, clean toilets, a pleasant stroll around the lake, a big enclosure full of colourful birds. The Christmas display in the conservatory is a "must see" - it's absolutely stunning.

The idea of the aviary is cool and I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked in seeing all the types of birds. However, the longer I stayed in there I began to feel a bit bad for them - there are quite a number...More

This is a great place to go and just sit and relax on a nice day and maybe read a book or just enjoy the beauty of the lake and the surrounding gardens. Well worth a visit.

Virginia Lake is so lovely both to walk around it viewing the pukeko chicks along the way, plus white swans, grebes and ducks, not to mention the glasshouse and the bronze statues around the place, plus a bird aviary

This is an awesome place, you can walk all the way around it. Feeding the ducks, have a coffee or something to eat at the café, lovely way to spend a day. The fountain is amazing, especially at night

My son enjoyed the opportunity to re-visit this childhood haunts recently and Virginia Lake did not disappoint. Even though the winter weather could have charitably been described as "iffy", the waters rippled and sparkled when the wan sun occasionally poked its head out of the...More

What a wonderful way to spend sometime, wandered around, ate at the cafe, fed the ducks, took photos, went through the aviary and just took it all in. Huge place and was amazing to be amongst some of my favourite animals, birds, right around me...More
