We had a fun day playing in the park. We rode on the train that started at 1pm and explored the pirate ship and castle. A great place for a family outing and picnic.

This was dreamt up in the 1950's and construction took place in the 1960's, and over the years new attractions have been added.. It consists of various 'lands' such as Marine land, with whale , a brontosaurus slide, sea serpent swings, turtles and an octopus....More

Every town needs a cool playground like this. Lots of things for kids to do and appeals to a wide range of ages. Also cool to see a water play area and a train to add some extra fun.

I'm now in my 60s and played here when I was kid, and my children loved the place as well. Its a very safe place for kids to play and its quite crowded on weekends. A place where nostalgic generational memories are made.

The playground facilities at Kowhai Park were built and maintained by service groups who love the town. Well maintained, lets the kids take risks. Ideal for building resilience.

What a great little, well, quite large, playground park for the kids. So old school plus a bit of modern with the water area, not operational at the time being autumn, as well. But super nostalgic for me, I remember crawling through the concrete tunnels...More
