Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating to the needs of 5 people in our group with physical and intellectual impairments. We had an excellent time taking in all the sites along the Whanganui River. It is a nice 2 hour trip with a narrator giving you interesting information over a speaker. You cross under about 3 bridges and see a lovely part of the country. There is a small "cafe" on the lower deck with little sandwiches, hot chocolate and other goodies for purchase. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting for the first time or even local to the area. Lovely experience - staff very accommodating and helpful.

We were meant to be on the 11am cruise for my sister's 90th birthday celebration on the 19th Nov. Arrived at 10am to be told the captain had called in sick. Surely their should have been a replacement captain that could have come. 14 family members were all terribly disappointed, 😔 the birthday girl extremely disappointed. Not good enough...

The weather treated us to a beautifully warm, still evening… I live locally but this was my first trip on the Waimaire. I’d been put off by family members who described it as smelly and cold. I regret not doing it sooner. It really was a special experience.

Loved the boat ride , crew were so helpful and made it easy and enjoyable. The weather was a bit cool and windy but we moved around all parts of the boat for the experience and to grab a coffee, hot savories and club sandwiches. The museum was interesting with the history of the boat and the river. Well worth doing

Great trip as always. But why is it always drizzly when we go out, Nevertheless, our fellow passengers and the crew were good company (loved to see a crew person bring a rug for a lady beside me who was possibly a little cold. Food was Ok and it was great going below to chat to the engineer. Food was OK too. Great day.

The views were amazing and the other people we met on board were lovely. It would have been nice to leave with a little momento seen as it was Mother's day, maybe a flower or a small gift card

Waimarie
Whanganui, New Zealand
A motel neat the river,Riverside Motel is the closest to the Waimarie Centre. If you wish for an upmarket place I suggest
The Sienna Motor Lodge, Kingsgate, or Midtown Mtor Inn.
These are all in Voctoria Av
