Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My mum and I joined Tracey on the Scenic Mail Tour and we were both so in awe of the majestic beauty the Whanganui River Road holds. Having grown up along the awa/river Tracey holds irreplaceable knowledge of the local history and has many brilliant stories from her childhood. We enjoyed a delicious morning tea with hot coffee at Jerusalem, plus a stop in at Matahiwi Cafe & Gallery on the way back where you can get some scrumptious baking too and check out the prop boat used in the film, River Queen. The pristine scenery of the native bush along the banks of the river is a great reminder of the beautiful region we live in. We got to meet some locals along the way who were all very kind. Ngā mihi nui Tracey for making our River Road journey so welcoming and an experience neither of us will ever forget. We definitely recommend this trip to others! :)

We had the best time with Tracy on the mail run up the Whanganui River Valley. The scenery was stunning. Tracy’s knowledge of the area, its history and culture was fantastic and we had the opportunity to visit sites we never would have experienced travelling alone. Worth every cent. The morning tea was delicious. Thanks Tracy 💓

There was two of us that did a tour of the Whanganui river road with Val. She is very friendly and loved the tour.
Sorry Val I would of given you a 5 but a couple of times your driving scared me a bit. I understand that you know the road well but as it is a freaky road at times and you looked at us on sharp corners sometimes.
Thanks for the experience with bit of thrill seek in it lol

Super nice tour of river combined with the rural mail run. Plenty of stops to look at what u want to see or interested in. Lots of information plenty to see. A slice of NZ a lot of people don’t see from all the animal life to the historical character of the country. Personalised to the passengers make it what you like or go as far as you want then cycle or walk. All is possible. Attentive tour operator with tons of knowledge to impart or talk your head off to this active listener it’s your choice. Bring your own lunch and stop where u want to and eat it but you won’t be very hungry after the provided morning tea. Meet some locals and explore their world.

We have one day, and were recommended to do the mail run together with a Jet Boat tour to Bridge to Nowhere. We were picked up early at 7am by Val, and the mail run starts. Val is chatty, and has a lot of history and stories to share about herself, the Mauri and the land. The roads were windy mountain roads, very narrow at place. And the sceneries were great, so it would be extremely good advice to relax, sit back, enjoy the scenery and let the expert do the driving and story telling. Seeing all sorts of mailboxes is certainly an eye opening and at times hilarious experience, for example, someone used a old unused fridge as a mailbox, how hilarious is that. If course, our fellow travellers from Netherlands added to a lot of fun too. One of the place visited is Jerusalem, where there is a church.l, which is very beautiful.

We were picked up early in the morning by Val the post lady who runs this tour up the Whanganui river to Pipiriki. On the way up we helped deliver the mail and stopped to admire the views in several places. Val is very knowledgable about the history of the valley and the people who live up there. We visited Athen, Rome, Jerusalem and London. Stopped for tea with a retired teacher in Pipiriki, delivered fruit and veg to the primary school, met the sister living at the catholic mission in Jerusalem, visited the beautiful wooden church and a really interesting marae.
Highly recommended as we would have missed half of this if we had driven up the road ourselves
Great trip for families as well as couples

I cannot recommend this tour operator. We were sent on the trip in bad weather/hail/wind.
Tracy gave me a blue Adidas children's backpack for my sandwich.
In short: we are happy that we are still alive

Unfortunately, Tracy is unsuitable as a tour guide. I would not recommend her. However, the transport worked very well and the accommodation was excellent! However, we expected Tracy to take on a leadership role and give us her recommendation regarding the Mountain to Sea route. However, that did not happen. She left all decisions up to us... and she would have sent us into disaster. Fortunately, we learned from our local neighbors how dangerous the Mangapurua Track really is! As there had been a terrible storm the day before, the track was life-threatening! According to Tracy, the bike tour through the Mangapurua Valley would not be a problem, or rather, would be possible without any problems. We are very disappointed with this service!
The second very disappointing point is the following: As we already knew that a bad weather front was coming, we asked Tracy to postpone the booked date. Unfortunately, there was no possibility, which was very disappointing. We would like to cycle the track again, but would definitely choose a different organization.

This cycle tour package is clearly labeled as a self-guided tour in your itinerary, which implies that it is undertaken without the supervision of a guide. At no point were you obligated to embark on this cycle trip; however, due to scheduling constraints, we were unable to accommodate your requested alternative dates. Regarding the misinformation about the perceived danger of the Mangapurua Valley, you were provided with alternative route options, yet you chose not to utilize them. Given your disrespectful behavior towards our team during your Mountains to Sea journey and your misunderstanding of the nature of a self-guided cycle tour, we have been advised by the New Zealand police to refrain from further contact.
