About
Centrepoint Theatre has been telling stories in the heart of Palmerston North since 1974. Ever since our humble beginnings in a former music hall closed down due to “teenage misdemeanours”, we’ve prided ourselves on being a place where people can see and celebrate New Zealand and people like themselves. We are a theatre for all. Our mission is to create theatre that engages and reflects our community. We are committed to theatre that is accessible to all and we are inspired by a shared belief that the arts play an integral part in our society.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just spent the best 90 minutes in a long time seeing regional theatre at its finest! Mark Hadlow takes you thru a non-stop 90 minutes of hilarity. MAMIL - Middle Age Men in Lycra title gives you just a hint of how much you'll laugh - even at the somber times. Book now - don't miss this great show and support regional theatre so we keep getting such class acts here!

A group of friends went to see the show “Hudson and Halls”, although not a great fan of theirs when they appeared on TV, this show really brought a trip down memory lane.
It exceeded all our expectations, we all said we have not had such a great laugh for a long while. The actors who played Hudson and Halls were outstanding and Kate Elliott absolutely stole the show with her antics, on and off stage, could not fault this.

I went with a group of friends to the latest production of “Hudson and Halls”. It is a comedy based on the cooking TV shows of the well known couple in the 1970’s, it was a very technical show handled with aplomb. Actors Andrew Laing and Peter Hambleton took on the personas of the couple and their chemistry shone through. They handled the cooking very well, it’s not easy to make things go wrong! Kate Louise Elliott stole the show with her antics in trying to keep things under control and Henrique Beirao helped things along with only speaking Brazilian. Great set that fell apart on cue and lighting design excellent as always. The lights that fell from the ceiling were a nice touch. I cried with laughter at several points during the show. A great show!

What an amazing show with so much talent. Loved absolutely every moment to walking in the door to the last kiss in the cheek from Pierre as we left. Loved is so much saw the show twice. Totally recommended. The only disappointment was the fact there were empty seat. Palmy needs to get behind these shows so that we can continue to enjoy in the future.

This show was one of the most entertaining shows we have ever seen at Centrepoint over the years. If you went to see Le Cirque Vole you would recognize Mike and Eve from that show. Pierre was an outstanding host and his wife Darlene an amazing singer and entertainer when she wasn't flirting with guys in the audience. Kane on the keyboard did a great job and David and Lizzie rounded out an incredible lineup of entertainment. We would go and see that again.

Went to this show with Grandchildren, was very entertaining and reasonably priced. Have never been disappointedwhen going to the Globe, we probably enjoyed this more than the kids. The get together with the cast afterwards, was also fun.

I went to see ‘That Bloody Woman’. Superb play and thoroughly recommend. Such a great little theatre. Intimate seating and could see well from my seat in the third row. Everything went smoothly.

Opening night of "That Bloody Woman" was a fun evening at Centre point. It's a great little theatre with all you need - easy parking, friendly staff, a bar and a a good production crew.

The performance provided some good music, laughs, history and highlighted the misogyny of the time.

A few minor glitches here and there but overall a well written, well performed show.

We have a season membership to Centrepoint and have found the offerings to be variable this year. However in the final show for 2016 the Streaker had to be one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. There was good social commentary, lots of humour and superb acting by the whole cast. Well done!
