Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unexpectedly in Palmerston North for a couple of days we enjoyed walking round the town centre and the Esplanade is delightful. We also liked the art deco loos and the i-site (our first port of call in all new towns)

A great place to visit. I took my grandkids with me and we found so many things to do and places to explore. It’s winter so the rose gardens weren’t looking their best but we got to see a rabbit running round in them.

The rose garden is absolutely magnificent, with every bed of roses labelled so well. They were very well looked after. I had a good cup of coffee at the cafe there, which I enjoyed sitting and drinking near the tropical glass house which had magnificent plants.

We came here for a visit as we were staying almost opposite here. There is so much for the kids to do and new stuff always being added.. From a bicycle / scooter park with a real traffic light, through to slides, to mini putt, miniture railway rides through the botanical gardens, rose garden and much more. Lots of parking on both ends and lots to do.. Prices for train and mini putt really reasonable for a family of 4. Kids love it everytime, no matter the age...

Well maintained, clean, excellent toilet facilities, good picnic space, adjacent to the lido, good parking, plenty to do. Little disappointed that the train wasn't running on the days we visited, but it is run by volunteers and you can't win 'em all. Be prepared though, that this service is not guaranteed!

Really nice park, with a variety of things to do. $20 for a family to do mini golf. It's really popular with a backlog of players. Really large park. Dogs are allowed in certain parts on a lead. Really nice walk down the river, but the Avery was the only letdown as only half of the cages were full.

The esplanade is a great place to go for a walk, relax and good for sightseeing. The rose gardens are lovely, especially in the summer, and the train and bird sanctuary provide good entertainment for everyone. The cafe is also quite a good place to sit down and chat or study.
