Overview
More
The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

This has been renovated since we visited six years ago and it looks great. It's become modern without being too commercial. A lot of information available and good mementos to purchase at very reasonable prices.

Many good exhibits telling the story of Echuca when it was a major (inland) port where red gum trees were brought down stream for processing in the town.

Very disappointed in the decline of the Port. No longer the buzzing, vibrant place. Untidy, empty space, nothing happening. Could not recommend anymoreMore

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately it seems you are referring to the whole Port Precinct, rather than the Discovery Centre museum. This area is under the control of the Campaspe Shire Council. We will pass this feedback on to them so they are continuing...More
