Hi Ron, Ballarat is fortunate to have such impressive facades and buildings. Quite a few old verandahs have been replaced in more recent times, adding to the ambience. The bank building you refer to was a replacement bank building, built prior to historic overlays being...More

The gardens are not much to speak of but Sturt Street the main thoroughfare of Ballarat is lined with historic buildings with wonderful facades which makes for an excellent stroll filled with magical photographic opportunities. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

The rotunda is pretty but it is not lit inside at night. Smells like urine. Nice to see or visit when you walk the Sturt St shops.

When in Ballarat, a walk up the Sturt Street gardens is always a delight. Something that is often overlooked and taken for granted by the locals. Great forsight in the 1800's

Thank you for your kind words about our beautiful main street, Sturt Street. Did you notice the Titanic weathervane atop of the bandstand commemorating that ill-fated voyage? Kind regards, Rosie

I loved the statues that were donated by local worthies. Also the rotundas were interesting, especially the one commemorating the RMS Titanic. Plenty of flowers to walk around and grass to sit on.,

Lovely spot to eat your sandwiches, or to stop while in town. A narrow but long stretch in middle of double lanes of Sturt St. During events, there are often musicians, or performers located within the precinct. Character of Ballarat been retained,
