We went for a walk around the lake after dinner at Boatshed restaurant. Lovely! There are canoes you can hire. Wished we’d brought our bikes. There are black swans on the river which our kids enjoyed watching.

What a beautiful park, lots of play equipment, wildlife and picnic spots. Be prepared to spend some time as there are lovely short walks to take in the different views of the lake.

The lake is really something to see - beautiful. We walked around the whole lake in 1 hour and 35 minutes which was at a slow walking pace. So much to see; people fishing, birds have their own little island and small wetlands. A must...More

Whilst in Ballaratt, take the time to walk the shores of Lake Wendouree. You can see all the water birds close up and the beautifully manicured foreshore. Other activities to enjoy are the Tram ride, Tram Museum and Botanical Gardens.

A nice walk, a quiet picnic, a drink and some food catching up with friends across the Rd whilst marvelling at its scenic beauty - this was just a few things we did during our stay in Ballarat. A magnificent place to visit.

Contact Ballarat Tourist Information at the Town Hall (03) 5337 4337 they will be able to answer this and more info about what else you can do whilst you are in Ballarat - I found them very helpful when I was there in May.
