Kryal Castle Adventure Park & Resort in Ballarat, Victoria officially reopened their doors to its NEW land of medieval adventure on March 2, 2013. Kryal Castle has been transformed for the first time since opening in the 1970s - to bring back to life this Victorian tourism icon which in November 2013 won Best New Tourism Development at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards. An adventure park unlike any other in Australia, it brings to life a legendary and mythical land of medieval knights, battles, dragons, wizards, kings, enchanting queens, princesses and fairies. The multi-million dollar redevelopment restored all areas of the original castle including the moat, drawbridge, maze and castle towers, as well as refurbishment of seventeen four-star, luxury on-site castle suites, with hand-woven French and Belgium tapestries. Open weekends, school holidays and public holidays from 10 am - 4pm (latest entry 3pm)- prepare for excitement at the new Kryal Castle - there are plenty of wonders and medieval marvels for EVERYONE - little kids and big kids - parents and grandparents - alike!

Lots to do in the half day we were there, little shops and displays to visit for inside choices on a rainy day. Keep an eye on the program for street performances, visit the cafe for an amazingly tasty pizza! The Royal Joust at 2.00pm...More

It had been a while since we visited - unfortunately there was not much happening - expensive day for a small amount of activity.

As we drove into Ballarat the heavens opened up and rained for the whole period of our stay. So the car park was a mud hole that we had to unload our luggage in. That meant mud on our suitcase. The path to get to...More

Murder Mystery was fun. Actors were great. Program encouraged much conversation around who the murderer was. Food was a bit of a let down. Pottage was just pumpkin soup. Main course although tasty was lots of rocket lettuce with quinoa or pumpkin and beans. Chicken...More

We stayed the night and the rooms were good although could do with a deep clean especially the bathrooms. Definitely not aimed at adults. The Jousting and various shows were quite good, without them you would be done in under an hour. The venue itself...More

We visited Kryal Castle with our 2.5 yo and 6 month old. It is a fun site, with a dragons's cave on entry. Once you get in though, fun is a little more self-directed than we liked. You can stroll around the grounds and there...More

We checked in on the friday specifically so we had the castle (almost) to ourselves as the shows are only on weekends. We chose a package including admission to the castle for the Saturday, but you can book just the suites.
