Wow, this place made me feel like I was in the era. Great displays around, and the acting in the streets making it seem real just topped it. Loved the area Coats and musket firing . Going back for sure.

A fascinating visit to this reconstruction of life in Ballarat during the first decade after gold was discovered. Lots of period shops , craft demonstrations, mine visits, demo of gold purification and good insight into issues of the time e.g. redcoat soldiers protecting the gold...More

This is a must see if you are in the area. An excellent recreation of an Aussie frontier town in early settler days. Lots going on and a great walk around experience.

We revisited after an absence of some 20 years. As the park is set in the 1850s, we were pleased to see only some minor changes but some major ' behind the scene areas ' -e.g. catering for school groups etc. Staff dress in authentic...More

An adult ticket is $57 which for what is available to see and do was not good value for money. The exhibits were very factual and staff were absolutely lovely and informative. This is really a place suited to school excursions for educational purposes and...More

I think families with younger children would enjoy it much more than teenagers. A lot of the activities are for young kids.
