We were in Launceston for a day and decided to visit the Cataract Gorge. No regrets. It is a beautiful place and is perfect for a family outing. Must go if you are in Launceston.

The chairlift gives you time to see where everything is, so you have a plan of where to go when you get off. It is a little bit of relax time in a busy holiday. The lady in the ticket office was wonderful. Great sense...More

We came close to 5pm and more cars were starting to leave. And what's good about parking is it's free after 5pm. You won't be disappointed arriving in late arvo during summer as the sun is still out, possibly less heat too, plus the chairlift...More

My kids love going on the chairlift and the views are amazing, I love the gorge it is so beautiful and peaceful. Great to go over one way then watch the peacocks and walk back over the swinging bridge to the other side!

Well, it was a chairlift. That is were the excitement ends I'm afraid. It was short and not that great a views. Teenagers were not very impressed with the chairlift.

Tickets are cheap for only $30 for our family. Ride is fun, takes 5-10 minutes to slowly go across the gorge. Great views, then a 10-15 minutes walk back via the bridge. Would be a great picnic spot on a nice warm day

It was so unexpected to visit Launceston, and have such a lovely natural Gorge right on the doorstep. The chairlift was a great way to see the Gorge, and so cheap $12.00 one way or $15.00 return for Adults. You get to the other side...More

First I did the boat trip, then I did the walk along to Cataract Gorge, but the best way to see it was definitely from the Scenic Chairlift- apparently the World's longest single chairlift span! Given that I have no head for heights, you might...More

They are not strapped in, but it is safe if you sit properly. If you’re worried about your kids keeping still I wouldn’t take them on it.
