Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Site of part of the Vievers sugar cane plantation of the 19th century. Fantastic photographic display of the growth of the Gold Coast region, and displays of objects that put us back to the time we were kids and long before my time. The volunteers are a wealth of information and very passionate about sharing their insights into the go,d coast. Laid back little museum donation at the door. Well worth a look.

Very interesting place loved the rain forest right in the middle of Bundall, and all the history of the Gold Coast on display especially the cable station section which shows the comunications from Vancouver (Canada) connecting Eengland to Australia in 1907

A little of the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Take a brief step back into town. Take cash for an entry donation. Not big, but very interesting.

The Gold Coast Historical Museum is a hidden gem. There's a replica pioneer cottage to explore along with Vincent Sheldon's artist studio. There's the main reclaimed brick building housing its collection including Indigenous artefacts, Pacific Cable Station display, 1950s gold coast fashion, early camera and radio collections as well as its extension which houses a large photographic collection of early black and white photos showing the evolution of the GC. There's also Dolan's barn housing all manner of early farming and building equipment, along with a collection of early engines. And if that isn't enough, the gardens are a delight to stroll through with a last section of littoral remnant rainforest remaining, native and edible plants, pioneer graves and plenty of local wildlife.
