I was warmly surprised by a lovely scent in the room two towels and soap on the bed. I was in the single room. Bed was comfy enough, very low, pillow comfortable too. There were two bedside tables, one with lamp. There was a portable fan in the room. There was an air conditioner unit, but wasn't usable. Cupboards provided too.
The kitchen was clean, but absolutely no room to store anything. All shelves and fridge were overfull.
Bathroom was clean, cleaned daily. Shower had good pressure and temperature. The hand soap took me a few days to find but it's there with hand towels.
Door to the balcony was nice, but there is constant traffic all the time so try to get an inside room or a room away from the road because the buses are noisy all day and night.
Friday night came with thumping music but it's Friday night.
Generally noisy, but if you can get get comfortable on bed it's a cheap way to stay on the Gold Coast and Coolangatta is finally starting to have the restaurants to go with the accommodation options.
Recommend for solo or couples having a holiday on the Gold Coast.

Recently refurbished the Sands has now a few distinct areas to enjoy. The traditional sports bar caters for all the locals and the alley bar is a cool place for a quiet beverage. open windows brings the coolangatta atmosphere inside with really good food and different items on the menu with great specials. Live music on Fridays and weekends in the lounge area give great atmosphere

CSH is almost an icon in Coolangatta. Nice large lounge area, good ,well presented food. Prices very good. Lunch or dinner has excellent menu.
Bar selection and service very good and fast.
Pleasant waitress and bar people.
In main street , has some backpacker accommodation I believe.
Very clean and tidy, has historical photographs of early Coolangatta on walls .

I was charged double for a 1 night stay in a female dormitory from 23rd-24th Feb 2017. I booked thru Agoda and paid thru Agoda, but the hotel also charged my Visa debit card upon check in. At first they claimed that the booking has not been paid for, but when I checked my booking again, they reconfirm that it was already paid for. But after I came back from my holiday, I checked my account and apparently the hotel STILL charged my card for the stay. I have already sent an email to the hotel but even after more then a week, I have received no response yet. Don't know if the staff are actually credible enough with their work. I could gave stayed in a better room with the total price I paid for 1 bed.

We really enjoyed our lunch. The Stone & Wood fish and Chicken salad were delicious. Awesome Margarita too!
Our waitress made us feel so welcome.
The whole experience exceeded our expectation.
We'll be back soon!

Woah.. What gorgeously comfortable decor, awesomely friendly staff, great menu and quick to serve delicious food. I chose the lamb cutlets which were so tender.. The best I have ever eaten. Even our little guy (1y/o) couldn't say no to a roast potato they were that tasty (wouldn't share my lamb, no way!). Loved it.Hubby's fish and chips were perfect too. 5 stars. Even my LLB was mixed well. Now locals, we'll be back again & again..

That's just about the best I can say about this place. Because it's across the road from the beach it's pretty much relying on the beach crowd so they don't worry too much about things.
Like, service, food quality etc.
The reason for the above could be because we were there on a "public holiday" New Year's Eve, and the regular staff weren't present, but I'm being kind I think.
