Went to visit to see the turtles hatching. Were in the last group so it was a bit boring hanging around and when we went out we only found half a dozen hatchlings. Then staff told us we could come out onto the beach again...More

Be sure to book ahead. Bring your hanky. The sight of either the mother turtle struggleing up the sand dunes to find a suitable place to dig her nest, the ordeal of digging and laying her eggs ... or from January ... the cutest little...More

We missed the tours by a week and were devastated (We're from the UK and it was our penultimate day here). We went to the beach on a whim, hoping for stragglers and were rewarded with over 100 loggerhead hatchlings! Went back next day to...More

It’s hard to describe this experience because it’s just that - an experience with nature that’s truly one of a kind. We visited in March, which means the Mon Repos Turtle experience we encountered was the hatching of the baby Loggerhead Turtles. Book well in...More

As a 70+ single baby boomer really appreciated this service as was travelling to/from Bundaberg on Tilt Train. Driver was excellent with fitting seats for young travellers to be able to see Mon Repos and support their parents. Friendly, professional service.

Look you do get to see loggerhead babies run to the sea, but they are contained in a pen prior to you arriving. You will not see them emerge from the sand in a natural way.
