Considering the number of turtles that come to this beach to lay their eggs, I expected a much longer beach. It is a fairly isolated area and the walk to the beach is mostly via boardwalks. Worth seeing especially between November and February.

hats off to the team at Mon Repos and the many volunteers that take so much pride in trying to protect the turtle population at Mon Repos - the work they do is critical for the survival of this endangered species.

We've been a few times, rangers are great. Here's a tip though, take a book and a comfy cushion to sit on as it's animal dependent and the first to book go to the beach earlier. Please don't ask the staff if you can jump...More

This would have to be the best place to watch turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and watch them hatch later and scramble to the ocean to begin their life, it makes you appreciate the wonders that we have and need to protect.

I believe in giving very honest, factual reviews: Bundaberg is tiny. Mon Repos has a wall with turtle facts you can get online on the trip there. However, since there were so many rude tourists pushing an shoving to see the... More

We had booked about a month in advance for hatching season and were very well rewarded. The night time viewing does have limited numbers.

They start on 7 and if you are not there in time if you are the first group you may be missed, when I was there people were arriving later on etc, but I would try and be there as close to 7 as possible.
