We came here in May while visiting our daughter at Newcastle University. The beach is pretty big with some really nice waves if you like to surf. We really like the bath pools as they get filled by the incoming tide. There's a snack bar...More

It is a very nice beach and the waves are good to swim and lifeguards are present. Parking is always full if on a hot day, and it is over crowded during summer time. I always go to Bar Beach for a swim or to...More

The beaches at Newcastle are so amazing but I love Newie the best. When we were kids we would start at Nobby's and end up at Newie. Catch the 104 bus back to Mayfield West.

We did a day trip of Newcastle from our Raymond Terrace BnB. A warm day so sought out the beach and were delighted to find the Bathes. Enjoyed a short swim and stroll. Many weddings happening in the vicinity so ideal people watching spot as...More

Excellent spot - beautiful, large beach. Good facilities with cafes and a walking/jogging/cycling track right there. Free parking too.

Newcastle Beach is a delight, with beautiful sand and good waves, and it's only a short stroll from the city's downtown area. The surf here tends to dominated by board riders but there are also some historic sea baths at its northern end which is...More

The Newcastle Beach is dedicated to surfers. Most people on this beach are in the ocean, either to watch surfers or to surfer. Some of them are quite confident in surfing. There is a lot of sand for sunbathing, but it seems that those on...More

Nice foreshore walk but needs an upgrade to match other walks in other cities. Beach is clean and well maintained. The baths are old and not much changed in the last 50 years. There are lifeguards even at this time of year.

After staying at hotels in Hawaii that overlook overcrowded, very average beaches, my husband and I have become a bit cynical about "beach" hotels, but the view of Newcastle Beach from Noah's hotel was stunning, and when we walked across the road to the beach...More
