Immaculate pools. Great spot to swim - both for the serious sportsperson and the kids. Excellent views up and down the coast.

A wonderful spot by the beach which provides a safe environment for a swim in an ocean baths. Whether it’s abut paddling in the shallows or teens jumping into the main pool, it covers all comers!

There are 2 separate pools - one is for children and shallow ( although it does get deeper on one side) and the other is deeper. There is a defined section for lap swimmers , which is down the southern end at the numbered blocks....More

As I am not a local I found the ocean conditions around here a bit worrying with strong rips that I was not familiar with, so the ocean baths were perfect for me. They are well set up and there is plenty of space to...More

These baths are really neat. They are carved right into the beach and are huge! If you're kids aren't comfortable swimming in the ocean they can swim safely and easily in these naturally fed by the ocean saltwater pools.

Loved our day at the beach here. Free parking. The pools were enormous and very clean. Recommend you go for a walk along the coastal track to Newcastle. Takes about 90 minutes.

The Merewether Baths are a quaint visit back into an early bathing pavillion right on the edge of the sea. Lots of local families use these baths as well as all us tourists. Terrfiic spot - can't be beat for position & is spotlessly clean....More

Swim anytime, they definitely don't close unless they are draining it for cleaning . I've been late at night during a hot summer Newcastle night and it was packed.
