great with kids on a Sunday morning with free art activities. First rate collection and exhibitions including many works from the Newcastle collection. Our main reason for visiting Newcastle on this trip, to see touring exhibition 'Elioth Gruner'

This gallery has a brilliant collection of both local and Australian artist works - these are regularly rotated and incorporated into new shows. Plenty of activities for children too.

The Newcastle art gallery is a delightful regional gallery, with a fine collection in a lovely building over two floors. We were fortunate to see a terrific Brett Whitely exhibition. Entry is free, it is well worth a visit.

A lovely small regional Gallery exhibiting local artists and hosting top quality travelling exhibitions as well. They also have a good working relationship with the AGNSW for artwork loans to flesh out their own collection. There are also lots of fun cafes and shops around...More
