Not a huge venue and display area. Dress-up area in the corner was fun for kids. Parking can be difficult to find but nicely located opposite Civic Park.

Well worth a trip to see the Mambo exhibition. There are lots of pieces to illustrate the huge impact of this irreverent and iconic brand on Australian society. From the Pauline Hansen graphic to Classic tshirts and shirts.

Very interesting walk around the Gallery on an extremely hot day outside. It was wonderful to see and activity for children in the Gallery and the Mambo Exhibition was a "blast from the past" for my husband and I. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Free entry 2 very different displays... Mambo and Portrait competition entries... enjoyed them both, Mambo for its humour and colour and the portraits for the variety of interpretations.

Excellent regional gallery, with stunning travelling exhibitions as well as an amazing variety and number of works in its own collection. Brett Whiteley, margaret Olley, Bill Dobell amongst and eclectic range of artists.

Currently showing the Kilgour Prize. Lots of good special exhibitions but a good showing of their own collection. Lovely place to take visitors.

Newcastle gallery is located in Layman Street in the city area - opposite Civic Park. Art works are displayed on 2 levels. The Gallery has a large collection but limited showing area. It is well worth a visit. Parking is available but can be limited.
