We were given the option to get a refund because it was a little cloudy. We decided to stay and pay the full price because this observatory is not government funded and is operated by Peter Starr and his small team. The presentation was very...More

We travelled from Brisbane to Dubbo partly for the observatory as my 8 year-old is a budding astronomer. I was a bit unsure at first as Peter turned up only about 10 minutes before the night viewing session was due to start without saying a...More

I took my daughter to Dubbo Observatory and We absolutely mesmerised by Peter and his son, an impressive young astrologer himself. I felt like a kid again. Peter eloquently explained the workings of the solar system and we actually were able to clearly see Saturn,...More

An amazing, educational, fun place Mr Starr ( yes! his real name ) is very knowledgeable, patient & polite. The laser pointer is great fun to watch. Would love to have come back, but only passing through on road trip.

We totally enjoyed our visit to Dubbo Observatory. Peter really does much better job than many big observatory’s, which we visited around the world. There is something very special about this one! Probably because the group is small and some people joined us later on,...More

Given I wasn't keen to go so glad I did. Seeing Mars, Saturn and the moon through the telescopes was amazing. A truly memorable experience.

It was very educational. There were 5 telescopes plus the the massive in the dome. They change the direction of the telescopes to view different planets and stars. They even connect your DSLR to take a photo through their telescope

Suggest you contact Peter Starr via at tenby observatory page or visit NSW. Peter owns Dubbo Observatory and runs the tours. Great night and well worth a visit.
