The Broken Hill Miner's Memorial is a fitting salute to the people who gave their lives to the mining industry that forged Broken Hill and ultimately BHP

Well worth a visit to remember the lost and gaze at the views over the township and beyond. I was hoping to be able to see over the heap to see them working but not able to.

It is a striking memorial to the miners who lost their lives while working. There are hundreds of plaques telling the name, age and plight of each one. The views are good (take a jacket unless it's warm) has good amenities and a cafe. We...More

This memorial dedicated to the miners who lost their lives working in the hazardous jobs of a silver, lead, zinc mines. Very sobering for all visitors to Broken Hill. Nice views of the town and surrounds. Short video of mining . Little cafe and gifts.

This place makes you stop and think! The conditions these men worked under must have been horrendous. Fabulous view of the city and the surrounding country. One not to be missed.

The stark steel monument is a striking memorial to the many miners who have lost their lives. You walk through a tunnel like hall of remembrance with a red rose opposite each name. The memorial has views over the town which was founded by mining.

Unbelievable to see how many names are up there and what they died from. Great views of the town. Interesting walking around the old mining equipment.

Stunning architecture, sombre themes. Pity a lot of miners who died in Broken Hill are not represented.
