Great to see how School of the Air operates as previous to this my knowledge about this great school was very limited. Helpful staff. Great resources. Keep up the great job!

Sit in on a lesson and watch as the teacher and kids interact even though they are hundreds of kilometres apart.
Makes you appreciate how easy your own schooling was.
Very spacial teachers AND kids.

This was the best short tours I did in Alice and a great opportunity to witness this wonderful strategy. You get to watch a school of the air class in progress then learn all about The history and current workins of the school. The exhibition was great and staff informative and friendly.

Being in the 'classroom' on Friday was a bonus- Friday is Assembly Day. The students from Kinder to Year six all participate from their remote homes as if they were right there in the room.

What a Great place to visit to learn about the education of children in such a diverse area and learn about the way children in remote areas can get an education through on line couples with tutors/teaching helpers.

A great place to visit, something that is uniquely Australian and gives you an appreciation of just how big our country is.

On the day we went we sat in on the school assembly, watched the teachers interact with their students and saw how the school operates with satellite and video links.

The visit starts daily at 8.15 and tickets have to pre-purchased at the Visitor Information Centre in town.

There’s an area detailing the history of the school and the staff spent time answering questions.

Visited the LDODE ( Longreach Dept. of Distance Education) which operates on the same principal as the Broken Hill branch.
An excellent means of education for children in remote locations. We saw a class in progress with the teacher speaking to about 8 children at once with the ability to switch to a 'one on one' basis to talk privately with students.

An excellent opportunity for city kids to see how the country kids learn.

We booked in the day before but when we got there we were put with a school excursion which was a bit crowded, and hard to ask questions. But the ladies were lovely and helpful. I always try to buy souvenirs at these places to hep them out.

This is where children living on remote outback stations receive their schooling via satellite. We sat in the classroom with the teacher while a lesson was being conducted.
