Luckily I checked the web site before visiting. The house is closed mid June until the end of August. it is only open weekends and some Public Holidays the rest of the year.

With no functioning heating in the main homestead it is far too cold and uncomfortable to run guided tours during the winter. When we reopen in September on weekends and most public holidays the volunteers will offer excellent guided tours.

What a beautiful location for a wedding or party .Great grounds for a. Marque or rooms at the back that can be hired plenty of car space ,area big enough for buses .Five minutes from. Armidale great motels 5 k down the road .

There is also a fabulous wedding/party venue in the Saumarez Homestead Farm Area located in the old heavy horse stable and carriage shed. Towards the end of 2019 Saumarez Homestead will also have onsite accommodation available in the Farm Area.

We visited about October 2017 with a group do a grand tour outside and inside the house. A light lunch was included in our tour and both the tour and the lunch were excellent. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
