This is what we were looking for! Professionality.....but most of all passion. A visit to discover familiar tradition and love for the land and for the wine. The sincerity, the hospitality and the passion of the owner turn the visit into a special experience.

Enjoyed all the wine choices: Arneis, Barbera, Munbel, Nebbiolo D'Alba, Barbaresco, Bric Bastia. Lovely experience. Nice family. Hope to return soon for more.

My only regret is that we didn't buy more wine from Fabrizio! The entire experience was terrific. We were able to meet Fabrizio's parents as well and you can really see that this is a family run business full of passion. We spent 3 hours talking with Fabrizio and his father learning about their process and tasting their wines. After visiting Fabrizio we went to two larger wineries and I can honestly say that our visit to Battaglino was by far the most outstanding.

If you stop over at Battaglino in Vezza d'Alba, you'll find a very kind and warm person, always doing his best for his customers, his family and his passion: the piemontese wine. Since many years, Battaglino is one of my favourite wine maker.

I came here as part of a hiking trip through the Roero, and had an excellent trip. Fabrizio really cares about the experience you have, and takes time out of his day to show you his vineyards, explain the differences in soils and vineyards and how it affects the wine, and then guides you through a tasting of all of his wines. He is equally passionate about making wines as he is about sharing them with you. I was also served a plate of delicious cheese, salumi, and grissini! The wines were great and absolutely classics of the Roero, including Roero Arneis, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba, and Roero DOCG (also made from 100% Nebbiolo -- an excellent wine). Generous, open to explaining and answering questions, and the visit can be in English, French, and Italian. A huge plus is that it's easy to visit: on their website, just fill in the form and Fabrizio will make himself available.
