Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience was interesting but over and done with in about 40 mins. It is a small museum at the back of the info centre. There is large engine to explore and make shift mining shaft which the kids loved. Lots of opportunity for dress up and photos. Probably more boards of reading than exhibits so younger kids weren't interested at all.

Quite expensive to get in,I thought. A good experience, and worthwhile, to see the work done in the mines in past days. A good souvenir shop, with lots of goodies to purchase. The displays were very good, along with the usual historic pictures, and life size displays of wagons, and a stroll through a mine reconstruction.
Well worth the stop.

The lady behind the counter took our $20 and that was all we saw of her, not there when we left, however a great small museum. Lots of static displays, very interesting videos, a mock up coalmine, lots of reading. Well worth a visit, gift shop as well. Those miners and their families were a tough lot.

Fantastic history of the mining in the region. Videos gave a huge look at what the miners and their families went through. It's hard to put it all into a review - just go see it all and then be thankful you have the life you do in comparison

We spent over an hour in the Museum, great collection of historical information relating to the importance of coal mining in the district. I enjoyed the mixture of photos, info boards, videos and personal artifacts. Staff were helpful, and friendly. Only $10 entry fee for adults, money well spent. Set us up with the knowledge to explore Denniston etc

This great little museum is part of the i-site and it's a must for those who wish to gain an insight into this former industry.
A contemporary set out, clear information and good films from the past, we spent more time here than we had expected.
Go and enjoy.
