Great coastline - decent day so worth a wander

Great scenery - seal at various places - well-formed track. Worth it for the scenery so would recommend

Fantastic 15 mins walk
Apr 2021 • Family
It was an easy walk with our special needs daughter. Lovely views and we especially enjoyed seeing all the seal pups playing.
There is a toilet in the carpark if you need one.
Start your walk from Tauranga bay for the short walk. Beautiful rugged West coast scenery.

Take time and Enjoy the View
Apr 2021
We start our walk from Omau Domain which is 1km walk to Cape Foulwind lighthouse. Just before the carpark or on the carpark side, you can also see the hole in the rock. It is an easy walk, kids friendly walk but there are part that is open so look after them. Then going to seal colony is an hour away. The view is amazing. Nice easy enjoyable walk. There are also weka walking around.

Fun little walkway + Seals!
Mar 2021
Nice little walkway to do with friends if youve a couple hours to kill and the surf isn't pumping. Right now you can see a large family of seals playing on the rocks at the start of the walk, and further along there are many beautiful beaches and wildlife to enjoy.

Simply The Best!
Mar 2021 • Solo
3.4km walk one way or do as I did, park near Tauranga Bay at the southern end, 500m walk to the Fur Seal Colony or 2.9km to the Lighthouse then return, of course. Spectacular coastline but for me, the highlight would have to be watching the baby fur seals frolicking in their swimming pool while their parents are away hunting for food. Simply The Best... Simply Amazing!!!

Awesome views
Dec 2020
Plenty of seals, a few penguins, amazing views, takes a great half day excursion of you go both ways: takes you up hill and down dale. Kawatiri at its best

Excellent walk

Beautifully regenerated native bush walk along top of ridge. Easy walk, stunning views and interesting facts to read along the way about how the area has been developed.

Early evening walk
Feb 2021 • Friends
This was a well laid out track very easy for all ages to walk great lookouts placed along track. We did see a few seals and their babies. A great activity to do and it’s free. There is a donation box and it’s worthy of a donation
Good parking

This is a must do walk. It's quite an easy walk, the scenery changes all of the time and watching the seals was the highlight.
