Had an amazing time learning about not only the delicious beer on tap but also the local culture and history. Came here on recommendation from the Bazil’s hostel and didn’t regret it! New management has taken over since Sept. 2019 and is upgrading the space. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the variety and taste of beer is fantastic!

IPA be still my beating heart. Oh dear this is a good IPA or if you are cider inclined the hopped chilli is just for you. Well it was for me as I still can't decide which one I like the best. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful.

Called in to top up on some beers. Very friendly service with great advice on the drinks on offer. Tasted a couple and left with a six pack. A very pleasant 10 minute stop. Quality beer and cider.

My 2 Brothers and I went to the West Coast Brewery last Saturday. The Lady there was so helpful and well informed about their beers. We each tried the sampling tray. They certainly have some great beers there.
I certainly would recommend a visit to the West Coast Brewery.

Kim is amazing and we love her brewery!
Proper oldschool brewery, exactly what we were looking for. Great beers and ciders, friendly service and classic decor. She also does takeaways so you can grab a few bottles to take home and try with your friends and partners.
Definitely worth a look in at if you're passing through Westport or staying here for longer!
P.s. If there is an ale better than her Barley Wine, then neither of us have tried it yet!

As a local I am a regular customer, my favourite tipple being the Black Beer however I also try all their other beers and have found that most are of excellent quality and flavour.
They have recently released a Pilsener and I find this also one of my favourites. I have friends in Nelson and every time we go there I have to take a couple of flagons.
The prices are very reasonable and my only complaint is they do not open on Saturdays where I feel they would benefit from tourists passing through with a bit of advertising.

Popped in to buy some beer whilst on holiday and got talking to the head brewer Marc. Very friendly and happy to let you try before you buy. Very generous with his samples too. Now quaffing the Miner Black back at the batch.

Didnt know the place even existed until we walked past it on the street, went in for a look and the lady was only to happy to give us samples of basically everything there was to try, worked in her favour as we ended up buying various bottles to take away, have now even been asking for their beer/cider in pubs /restaurants as it is not a bad drop at all!

Quite a few of the local businesses recommended the Westcoast Brewery Tour. It's just off of the main Westport high street so it was very easy to get to. We managed to get a personal tour as it was quiet at the time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The guys were very knowledgeable and hardworking, I couldn't fault them for anything. Even the guys who were in the middle of a brew were friendly and stepped out of their way whenever we wanted to have a nosey to get us involved! I fully recommend; the best thing about the tour is you get to try up to 5 of their brews, all 5 of which were lovely! Why they aren't busier I don't know!
