Great to see. Good boat ride as well. We went with Real Journeys. Not bad people to deal with, they were very helpful.

The whole experience was way better than we expected. The glow worms were really cool but the thing we liked best was the cave experience. I have been in a lot of caves but never one like this. There was a river running thru the...More

Not a great rating... but still an amazing experience. The setup is great, the staff were amazing and the tour it self was well done. Negatives you can’t hear the guide due to the water (maybe some type of headset option should be available, possibly...More

Great trip good staff caves were amazing. Get the coffee right and you would have got 5 stars. Also the skipper could smarten up his act a bit.

Only a short boat ride across the sound the experience is one not to miss. Make sure you’re able to crouch through tight spaces and ok getting a little wet

The glow worms was very touristy and frankly I wondered if all those little glow/lights were real! I enjoyed learning about them and liked walking and riding through the dark cave. But I probably wouldn't go if I knew! Good for kids if they can...More

The boat ride is nice, we went at 7pm and they gave us a commentary about the area which was interesting. The caves themselves have roaring water and it's very beautiful inside. We enjoyed being plunged into darkness on the boat and the surreal feeling...More

A fun tour that's very well organised. Real Journey's Glow Worm tour in Te Anau is worth doing, especially if you have kids. The highlight of the tour is obviously the time in the cave and seeing the glow worms (total time in the cave...More

After the 40 minute cruise over Lake Te Anau, you arrive at the caves. The walk through the caves itself is just as good as getting on the boat in the darkness. The whole walk through is well worth it if you are in the...More

If you are looking for an amusement park type event this isn't it. It's simple and really fascinating. The critters are a miracle for sure! The best time to visit for the most glow worms is mid summer in December. Read up on them prior...More

I would look to go during the day, as the boat ride over has fantastic views and should you miss the boat you will not automatically get on the next boat.

Not recommend if I was claustrophobic as there are low ceilings and dark periods with no exits to escape.

Check out realjourneys they run the trips to the caves. Roads and weather in Fiordland is variable, we got caught with a large snow fall a few years ago in the area in early June, but if you can handle the cold and have... More
