Photographs cannot do the splendor justice. We drove through on the Milford Road heading to Milford Sound. One minute you are driving through a forest of tall tree canopy and then all of a sudden it opens up to the most amazing meadow that the...More

Not easy to access apart from the Milford Road - but the best way to really see Fiordland NP is to hike/tramp into its vastness. Take the Milford Track or the Kepler.

We drove through Fiordlands on the way to a boat tour of Milford Sound. I wish we had had more time to explore, it was so incredibly beautiful here! The waterfalls, the wildflowers---ah, just gorgeous. You need to see this incredible place.

Absolutely beautiful. So green. It is breathtaking. The colors change with the sun and the fog and clouds. There are so many waterfalls. Be sure to use insect repellent in Dusky Sound. You do not want to be bitten by the sand flies.

All roads in New Zealand are in excellent condition. Driving is a pleasure there and road rules are observed by all. Check the winter condition when some roads are blocked. We were there during March and had no problems... More
