Movie and drinks
May 2021 • Couples
Went to the cinema last night to watch "Land" which was quite capturing and enjoyable. I had a port of which I was able to take into the theater. For the second half my coffee (which was excellent) was delivered to my comfortable seat. Whilst the new staff member struggled to make an impression, Jo was absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work Jo. We will return to enjoy your hospitality soon.

Fabulous cinema with the Ata Whenua Fiordland on Film a MUST SEE !
May 2021
Enjoy a cocktail in the bar before you go in to your movie - even take it into the theatre if you wish. The Ata Whenua Fiordland on Film movie is breathtaking and should be a compulsory element of any Te Anau itinerary. Even the most cynical not desiring to go see a movie of New Zealand scenery will be grateful!

Great Movie Theatre

Excellent place, has a boutique cinema feel to it & they brought my teapot, cup & milk into the theatre at the start (hubby already had his wine). Large screen, huge seats & even had an intermission which i thought hilarious. Bar on the side looked nice & cosy.

Was told by a local regarding this cinema, small boutique type which showed an interesting, picturesque movie about fjordland which was very enjoyable, situated next door to the Black Dog bar you were able to take your own drinks in

Deer wars; a fascinating slice of NZ history
Dec 2020
Comfy chairs in this small but high tech cinema.

I watched Deer wars; a fascinating slice of NZ history as hunters went from piece meal paid callers to live trappers earning staggering amounts. (Haha - see what I
did there).

Very clean, friendly staff, great bar next door with happy hour and outdoor seating.

The price for a 35 minute documentary was above the norm.

Fiordland on Film
Jan 2020
While staying in Te Anau, we were advised to watch "Fiordland on Film--Ata Whenua" at the Fiordland Cinema. It was a great recommendation. The film was a breathtaking view of Fiordland National Park, shot from a helicopter. It showed exceptional views of waterfalls and glaciers, wildlife and plant vegetation. The film was thoroughly enjoyable. At the peak of the tourist season, it is shown on the hour, which is a testament to its popularity. It was money well-spent.
