Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic full day experience from Te Anau 8am to 7pm - - Karlyn was a brilliant host making this a memorable trip and worth every penny - his education and tips for taking photos with a phone camera were an added bonus too! Additional Packed lunch was good. Just a recommendation to either wear long trousers or take a Sand fly repellent. Rest of the views summarise what a unique area the Fjordlands and Milford Sound are - this is a ‘must do’ if you are visiting South Island!

Great to do in a small group. Dramatic scenery. Stephen was very informative.
An early penguin, fur seals and spectacular waterfalls.

Tania our guide was excellent in every way, helping to make the day a very enjoyable experience. She shared just the right amount of information with humour and experience to ensure everyone enjoyed the trip. From pick-up to drop off everyone's needs were catered for and met. The scenery was breathtaking and adequate stops ensured plenty of photo opportunities. The boat trip in partnership with Cruise Milford was delightful and just the right length. The coffee and tea on board was appreciated as cool at times. The team really went out of their way to make you welcome. Thank you to all concerned.

Small group, unhurried, lots of stops, lots of fun and points of interest. I cannot recommend highly enough. 20th February was a beautiful day. Milford Sound needs no introduction of course but we were left feeling so happy we went with Fiordland Tours. A great day out in itself was made so very memorable for the three of us by Stephen, our brilliant guide for the day whose good humour, as well as his enthusiasm and knowledge of the geology and ecology (and his great anecdotes!) of Fiordland made the actual journey to Milford and back so interesting and the whole day really special.

Great boutique style experience. The way to see Fiordland National Park with the lovely Tania as our guide. So knowledgeable, caring and easy going. Beautiful weather got great photos to make our friends at home jealous.

Fantastic tour. Great bus ride to the boat (included a morning tea stop) and packed lunch to take onto the boat. (FYI Fiordland Tours operate out of Te Anau, a cute ‘wee’ town and pick you up from the hotel. If you book a tour out of Queenstown, you have a 5.5 hour bus trip both ways! The Te Anau buses are vans, which give you a more intimate experience.)
We had an excellent guide, Sacha. She was local and knew the area well, not just as a hiker but someone who takes an interest in its economy, ecology and sustainability. She had some great stories to tell. We stopped to see kea (the only alpine bird in southern hemisphere) and had a couple of short walks, including Marian Falls track (has a swinging bridge).
We were lucky with the weather. Cloudy at first, but the sun was shining towards the end and the cruise around Milford Sound was stunning. Our skipper was knowledgeable (it’s a fiord not a sound) and manoeuvred the boat right under one of the falls.
To top it all off, our lamb sandwiches were the bomb! Lots of filling and nice bread.

Sasha was the best guide ever. She is such an accomplished woman. She is experienced in so many avenues and has hiked seemingly all of the tracks. She made our trip. The jetboat was fun and we enjoyed John's humor too. Ray is an excellent tour operator

Excellent trip to Milford Sound. John our guide was very informative and entertaining. It was a small group tour which was perfect for exploring the area. The tour included plenty of photo stops, optional short walks and comfort breaks!
I would highly recommend this experience
