Karlyn was a fabulous guide for our day tour to Milford from Te Anau. He spoke so wonderfully clearly and kept us entertained and engaged the whole day long.
He took us to so many beautiful spots, and was thoughtful and respectful to all. We were one of the first groups into Milford Sound, and then at the other end of the day he took us to beautiful Lake Gunn at sunset to take photos and enjoy the peace and serenity.
Would definitely recommend this tour to others. Thank you.

The full day tour from Te Anau was amazing! Our guide Tanya prioritized our safety on the slightly icy roads and clearly loved her job. She was knowledgeable, made sure we saw all that we could, and baked us scones! The Milford Sound cruise was perfect; we had to pinch ourselves to believe we were in such beautiful territory. The snowcapped mountain tops and permanent waterfalls were breathtaking. The unexpected meeting with the endemic keas was so fun! They have such beautiful colors underneath. The early cruise at 10:30 am meant we could make stops in the afternoon where we enjoyed the sunshine and took awesome photos to remember the day forever! We were back in Te Anau by 5 pm. My daughters and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.

If you only have one day to see Milford Sounds, I highly recommend doing the tour from Te Anau with Fiordland Tours when visiting Milford. We stopped along the way to the Sounds about 10-15 times and were able to see so much more of the National Park.
Tania was the absolute best tour guide, very friendly, informative, and passionate about the Sounds.

I did the small group Milford Sound cruise which included transport from Te Anau. I was uncomfortable during the cruise because it was very cold and windy. While that can happen, I could not comfortably sit inside as there was a very loud group chatting constantly. We only saw a few inactive fur seals and others saw a couple of penquins. Lunch was nothing special tho there was variety, the chicken sandwich was flavorless and dry. The tour guide was a good driver, very informative and served delicious homemade carrot cake at our morning snack. However the guide made rude comments to me 3 times. The first was when she wanted me to sit up front since I was solo. I told her I did not want to sit up front as she would be talking. Instead of understanding that I did not want to sit next to a tour guide who would be talking loudly constantly, she told me that she would be talking as others paid for the tour. The other rude comments were similarly ridiculous. She is the only local who has been rude to me in the country.

What a fantastic day we had! Fiordland tours picked us up at 8:30 their van/bus was very comfortable and quite. Our tour guide Jonathan was really nice and very knowledgeable on the area’s history, flora and fauna , in fact there wasn’t much he didn’t know , he even helped me with my camera . He knew all the best stops to see the amazing views . We went for a short very manageable walk through a rain forest which was so beautiful . They set up a very nice tea morning at one stop. We transferred to Cruise Milford when we got to the Milford sounds . The boat trip was incredible , it’s just something you have to see for yourself. It really is something you’ll never forget. Cruise Milford were very friendly and informative, taking us in very close to the beautiful water falls . Their boat was very comfortable with outside and inside viewing, plus tea ,coffee and biscuits available for everyone, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fiordland tours and Cruise Milford

Booked through our tour operator, we went on a trip to Milford Sound with Fiordlandtours today. It is a small group tour with a very talkative tour guide and also a very good bus driver. During the trip she told us a lot about New Zealand, the flora, the wildlife and Milford Sound. At the end she gave us a few local tips for dinner. The frequent stops made the trip very varied and entertaining.

Our tour started from Te Anau and unsurprisingly, Milford Sound was amazing, but what really made it special was Jamie (our driver) and the crew at Fiordland Tours.
It was clear very early on our drive to Milford Sound that Jamie was an expert in the field and had great passion for what he does. We had a very informative and sometimes comedic commentary, this is one where it's not just about the destination because each stop along the way really added to the overall experience.
The morning tea and lunch on the day were both great with plenty to eat.
I'd recommend bringing a raincoat or similar if the boat decides to venture under the waterfall, some sunscreen if it's summer and a jumper (even in summer).
Thanks to all involved in organising the tour!

We did this tour with our 6 and 8 year old girls and absolutely loved it. Sunny day and we saw dolphins and seals as an added bonus. The tour guide Jono was great making sure the kids engaged with the tour, even letting them take turns to ride up the front. The tour itself is incredibly scenic and speaks for itself. I’m glad we chose a small group operator instead of one of the big guys, can recommend!

An excellent trip , made even more special thanks to John our driver and guide. His commentary and chat was first class, kept everyone well informed and was willing to answer any questions. Lots of fantastic photo opportunities and never any hassle from John, morning stop for coffee and scones was a nice touch. The drive to Milford Sound flew by and we were soon at Milford Sound. Picked up our lunch and head off an absolutely wonderful cruise down Milford Sound. The captain on the boat gave a first class commentary on all the scenic highlights and got some great pictures. We saw seals and dolphins which not every one does. Drive back flew past and again plenty opportunities to take pictures and toilets. First class experience from start to finish.

Excellent tour! Our driver Stephen was so knowledgeable and happy to answer lots of questions, very easy to talk to and be flexible with the itinerary. Milford Sounds is amazing and this tour gave the chance to see it in a relaxed way and not stuffed into a massive cruise filled with a boat at full capacity. The boat is sized at 50% capacity which gives lots of freedom to navigate and take photos. Defo recommend.

We operate day tours which depart at 7:45 am and return at 6:00 pm. The over night doesn't actually cruise for any longer/distance thsn our day tour does

My understanding is no as their buses depart solely from Te Anau. Leaving from Queenstown adds four hours round trip to the drive, making for a very long day.

Unfortunately the Diamond Princess does stay at Milford Sound.
It will do passenger transfers for those that are doing the two day tour to Port Chalmers and then will cruise away after an hour.
I suggest you come back to NZ and do a land base holiday and do the Fiordland Experience with us

Unfortunately the Diamond Princess does not stay in Milford Sound for long enough to do a tour
(about an hour)
The itinerary is very misleading
Stick with the cruise and come back via land one day and do our tour
