This business is now run by a fantastic couple called Erica and Chris. We went on the discovery cruise to the south Fiord of lake Te Anau for approx. 3 hours, where we stopped off at Fiordland rain forest where Erica took us on a nature walk for 30 mins, which was spectacular.
The scenery along this trip was simply breathtaking. While Chris drove the boat, Erica kept us company up on deck imparting her vast knowledge of the lake and surrounding area, along with some great friendly chats.
We would highly recommend booking this trip with Chris and Erica as a must do on your travels. This was one of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand. We hope to get back to NZ one day and when we do we will certainly book another trip with Erica and Chris.
The motto on their website is absolutely true “arrive as strangers, leave as friends”.

We really enjoyed our tour of the lake with Peter. Beautiful views, lovely boat super day! Peter has excellent boat handling skills, and is very professional but friendly and unstuffy at the same time. We learned some really interesting things about the local area and loved the fact that we were a small group so we got to know each other a bit during the day.

If you want to see and learn about the lake from a local, in a relaxing and fun environment, this is the trip for you! Totally recommend to anyone and thanks Peter for a great day out!

Didn't have a lot of time on our trip here, so we selected this shorter trip around Te Anau's lake. Was not disappointed! The host Peter is a very amiable and knowledgeable guy. We really enjoyed our time and learnt lots about this area. We were very lucky to an absolutely perfect day.

Peter provides a most enjoyable cruise around Lake Te Anau which includes a pleasant short walk on the other side of the Lake.
He has a smaller boat, which enables a more personal experience to the customer.
Peter's knowledge is very good

While in Te Anau, we wanted to do something special. We were advised to try this trip. Oh my, we are so pleased we did.
We were fortunate with the weather, this is always a bonus. We booked the afternoon tea cruise. We boarded at 13:45 ready for the 14:00 sailing.
Faith is a beautiful old lady. She has been restored by George and Adam. Very thing about her shows the love that George has for this stunning vessel. No detail is missing, right down to what they are wearing, which is the correct uniform for the age of Faith.
We set sail along the Te Anau lake. Conditions couldn't have been better, the lake was so calm. We were given the choice of refreshments, we would highly recommend the local IPA.
Throughout the cruise, George and Adam spoke to everyone, not only that, everyone was welcome to visit the wheelhouse, this is unheard of on other vessels.
We sailed up to the Secret Lake. George took us on a light stroll through an untouched wilderness. The sounds and smells were amazing.
Back on board Faith, we had more refreshments and a delicious afternoon tea. I must add and it is something George told us he insisted on, everything is served in real glasses and crockery.
The sail back was equally as good, the sail was hoisted.
The cruise was all to soon over.
We have had some fancy afternoon tea in Bettys, West Yorkshire, but this one wins hands down.
When we come back to NZ, we will do it all over again.
Thank you George and Adam for a memorable afternoon.

We enjoyed our 3 hours on the lake, I believe it was a nice alternative to Milford sound as the road to Milford sound was closed. The walk to the hidden lakes was a nice break from the boat. There were 20 of us on the boat and still plenty of room for all even though the max advertised is 12. Cost is $105.

Great trip, very relaxed and friendly. The trip wasnt rushed and we were just able to take our time. Peter was very happy to stop at points of interest, like I wanted to take a photo of the Grebe on the lake, so he positioned the boat so I could get a good shot. The bush walk was amazing and beautiful. Great afternoon spent.

I can honestly say this this one of my most favorite holiday experiences. Peter is a great host. Really knowledgeable and passionate about the lake and environs. The walk we did through the rain forest was amazing. It was quiet, totally unspoilt and a great nature experience. What amazing vistas we were treated to. The trip was complicated by low lying cloud cover most of the day which was nobody's fault, but it did mean we couldn't appreciate a scenery from the boat which was a real shame. We did however cruise past one of the islands on the way back to the dock and were able to appreciate some of the beautiful scenery. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this experience.

We enjoyed such a glorious day cruising Lake Te Anau with Peter. The absolute best way to see the Lake and the South Fiord. Peter knows all of the hidden gems and shares such wonderful knowledge of the area.

After tramping the Kepler Track, the cruise was the perfect way to see those incredible vistas from another angle. Absolutely perfect.

Thanks Peter. Such an incredible day.

Now this is a lake tour with a difference. None of your in your face loud commentaries down a poor PA system, none of your gratuitous tour guide's over the top humour, but a leisurely, relaxed and memorably enjoyable three-hour cruise with Peter.

The boat can only take 12. We were actually only 4 but for twelve there would be plenty of room and plenty of flexibility . You can sit inside, outside, at the back, at the front, on the top, have your pic taken at the bow if you want that Titanic shot. It is so flexible and very comfortable.

Peter will not ignore you. On the contrary he will circulate, speak to you individually, in pairs, in groups and tell you all you need to know and then leave you to experience the beauty of Lake Te Anau. Half way rough Peter will take you on a short guided walk through what seems like virgin forest which, in turn, will give you a sense of the unspoilt beauty of this area. He will tell you some of the mysteries of the plant life and lead you to a beautiful hidden lake.

On your return to the boat there will be tea or coffee and a muffin and then the journey home.

Peter has so got it right for those of us for whom mass tourism has lost its allure and for whom the 'small is beautiful' model is the best.

This trip is a must for anyone who wants quality tourism as opposed to mass tourism.

A memorable afternoon. Highly recommended.
