We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped in as it is just on the left as you enter Te Anau from the south. The girl behind the counter was helpful. We pretty much confirmed what we had already planned. If your watch is broken there is a sundial outside so you can know the time.

Visited on Thursday 3rd May. This was our first port of call when we arrived in Te Anau. The staff were very helpful with giving advice on what to see during our brief stay there. It made our decision on where to go easier when you have so much to choose from.

Maybe it was down to the fact that the road to Milford Sound was closed so people needed help to find alternatives but the center was packed with extremely helpful staff all willing to help! Definitely a wealth of knowledge all under one roof!

We visited the National Visitor centre and found some very interesting information about the surrounding area and the lake in general, Highly recommend visiting the centre for local information. The staff really do have a wealth of information about local walks.

As many info centres around the country, the staff here were very kind and informative. You can ask about the weather, gear, booking, tours, and many more. Get some maps as well.

Great location and facilities but the staff member was uninspiring . eg We asked for any suggestions for a wet and windy day we could do and she suggested for us to go to Milford Sound . Now we had already been - but not only did she not ask if we had but why do on a yuk day . Not a good recommendation/advice so we lost a bit of faith. Actually more local info was more helpful than the visitors centre

The staff here were very helpful and well-informed about hiking and walking in the area. They have some retail items that are nicely displayed and an interesting exhibit on the natural history of the area.

Great views everywhere around Te Anau with lots to do without it being ridiculously commercial like Queenstown. The weather is not always perfect but this is a lovely part of the world.

It is hard to find the right superlatives. We were fortunate to visit the park on a day when there were only occasional showers with enough sun to see the mountain peaks, the numerous waterfalls and the incredible fjords. Milford Sound is the most famous but Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound are must sees. This is a photographer's delight.
