Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a kiwi spotting tour, which starts after sunset. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. We saw a number of kiwi, including one that walked up to my friend from the US and sniffed her runners for 20 seconds or so before heading off into the night!

We immensely enjoyed our stroll on the raised boardwalks and beaches of Ulva Island. Our guide enthusiastically shared her knowledge with us and keenly spotted many birds. The birdsong was magnificent.

Exciting to finally see kiwi in the wild especially as the booked time was the night before and it poured with rain. Really appreciated the fact Angela took the 3 of us up to viewing site in her car and conditions were perfect for viewing, the stars were also clear. The heavens were something else. I was with Don another member of the Moa Trek Tour on 7th Feb
Thanks so much Angela

It was an amazing experience as a lifelong birder. Our guide Grace was fantastic and very knowledgeable about Kiwis habits. We got to observe 5 birds. One female and four males. Two males had a fight. Some rain but its Stewart island. Will be back next year i expect?

Went kiwi spotting at 11pm with Emma. Really informative and amazing to see one in action, we watched him for ages, not moving a muscles incase he ran off.
Then as if by magic he came up to me and started pecking at my shoe. He then turned round and sat on my foot, I was in total awe!
Thank you beaks and feathers what an amazing experience.

The weather was foul, but the trip and staff just great. Hannah our guide was very knowledgeable and all staff at beak and feathers are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We saw the Wekas, Robin, yellow heads, fantail, tui, parakeets, grey warblers, and heard the rifleman. On the boat it poured with rain however it was great to get close to a dozen or so Albatrosses, white capped, billet and grey breasted. Overall excellent experience.

Hi Robbyna Thanks so much for your kind review. I agree the weather was foul that day. Hannah and i are happy you enjoyed the Ulva by land and sea guided tour even though the weather was not the best. It was such a bonus seeing three kinds of albatross too :)
