An amazing experience. Ulva, our guide, has an incredible knowledge of the flora and fauna of the island after which she is named. Her small group size policy means that you get the full benefit of her expertise and can move quietly through the bush without scaring off the

Brian and Jill - thank you so much for your brilliant review. I'm so very pleased you were able to come to our stunning part of the world before mother earth rebelled! The environment has definitely survived the best out of this lock-down time, although we haven't been able to get back to Ulva Island Bird Sanctuary for six weeks now. Can't wait to get back there and check how the birdlife is going. I do hope your trip home was uneventful, and are spending this time cataloguing your photos :) Noho ora mai - keep safe and well, Ulva Goodwillie.

Ulva is a lovely lady and we were very fortunate to have her as our kiwi spotting guide on a night trip. It was raining and we drove around the few roads on Stewart Island in the hope of seeing a kiwi, stopping at haunts Ulva knows are good for seeing them. We got great views of

Thank you so much for your feedback Julie P - it's a wonderful privilege to see our kiwi in the wild isn't it, and raining as well! I'm afraid the weather on our evening walks hasn't improved much although this is supposed to be summer... Best wishes to you and safe travels, Ulva Goodwillie, Ulva's Guided Walks

It was an absolute pleasure taking your extended whanau to our stunning Ulva Island bird sanctuary. Children are so open and honest in their reactions to our birdlife, I know they would have passed any exams that may have been given later :) We have often said that there is no better reward for Ulva's Guided Walks guiding team than hearing feedback such as yours; I do hope you are able to return to Stewart Island at some time in the future. My wife and I did this tour conducted by our knowledgeable guide Sandy. We were introduced to the history of the island and were expertly guided to see many of New Zealand’s native bird species in their natural habitat. The walking was easy and it was a rare chance to see the

Ulva Island has many interesting aspects, so it's lovely to hear from a non-bird watcher how it still managed to captivate your interest. Thank you for your review, which I will pass on to Sandy.
