Amazing Scenic Drive from Queenstown with plenty photo opportunity. Glenorchy itself is a nice and small place to visit.

Scenic views over lake up to Glenorchy but watch for European and Asian drivers speeding overtaking or slowing without warning

The road is generally safe, though there is a small portion by some cliffs with some blind corners and where it is quite narrow. Drive sensibly and you will be fine.

I think bicycle would be a bit much... road is windy and hilly and could be dangerous for a bike.
