While Queenstown is generally done at full pace, Onsen Hot Pools takes a step back to let you take in the beauty of the surroundings and simply relax. With uninterrupted views across the Shotover Canyon, our Cedar Hot Tubs are heated to 37.8C on warmer days and up to 39.8C during the winter and can accommodate up to four adults. Our natural setting is matched by the pure water captured on its endless journey between the sky and earth to continually fill and refresh the pools. With complimentary transport to and from Queenstown, Onsen Hot Pools is relaxation the natural way.

It was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Queenstown, after spending a week snow boarding and aching all over, the hot pools were the perfect way to end the romantic day we had planned for our 1st year wedding anniversary. Thanks to all the staff at Onsen for making it so special :)

After a day skiing, the hot pools are the perfect end to the day. Sitting in the beautiful hot water, overlooking the Shotover River, watching the mountains opposite changing colour as the sun goes down, sipping a cool mineral water and enjoying a chocolate.... Ahhhhh........ It doesn't get any better!!! My wife and I honeymooned in NZ and she had... More

I'm really glad I read Trip Advisor reviews when my fiancée and I planned our trip to New Zealand, because they truly were a highlight of our trip! We usually do some pretty crazy adventure things, but decided to give this a try and it was worth it. I recommend getting the candlelight package- super romantic! Also, everyone working there... my daughter and I had a couple of hours to kill. we ventured out to this wonderful place only about 10 minutes from the city centre. we have a spa at home that overlooks the city but this was something special. immaculately clean, well equipped and great staff. lets not forget the views to die for!.

Looked the hot pools! Perfect end to a busy day. We went twice on our trip, second time had a discount and we added the candle package which was nice but failed abit as some of the lights went out. The view we had at night was amazing - the moon was full and it was outstanding. During the day... More

When we first arrived in Queenstown we discussed the option of going to the Onsen pools, but we were put off by the price. However, after some bad weather we decided to give them a go, as we had saved money not going to the ski field. Well it proved to be the highlight of the trip. It literally snowed... More

Recently a group of us went to Queenstown to snowboard for a week. My partner and I had a romantic night out alone, dinner in town and then got picked up and driven approx 10 mins out to the Onsen Hot Pools. Best money we spent while away, not only is the onsen AMAZING for your tired limbs after a... More

Organising a family event for 16 of us from all over the world is never an easy project but after a full-on day of skiing at Coronet Peak, starting the main evening together at the Onsen Hot Pools set the scene for us all perfectly. The spectacle of entering each of the 4 candlelit pool rooms was sublime. The facilities... More

Good spot to drop in on your way back from Coronet Peak. Bit pricey at $30 per person - it's just a spa bath! But gorgeous views over the Shotover make it worthwhile.

Onsen Hot Pools are about 10 minutes drive from Queenstown centre towards Coronet Peak. They provide a free pickup and drop back service from the Station (opposite the i-Site) in town. When you arrive at the pools you make your way down a series of steps or ramps to the facility - and to our amazement we found the pools... More
