We were a large group of different ages and fitness levels but Huw led the way through snow and alpine country to get us to our destination. He supplied us with a healthy packed lunch before we put the kayaks into the river and headed downstream. Stunning scenery and weather in September made the trip spectacular. So much fun negotiating the river as inexperienced paddlers but felt extremely safe and secure in the kayak. Huw has a brilliant knowledge of the area and river. Can not recommend this trip more highly.

I have spent 6 months in Glenorchy and I did all the activities around, commercial and by my own. From all of them, and I could include all the activities in Queenstown too, this was the best! It is a must do! !!!!!and if you are in the area for only one day, and you can't decide what to do... definitely this, because it includes: - SIGHTSEEING BY 4x4 of the Lord of the Rings landscapes: The road from Queenstown to Glenorchy is one of the most beautiful of New Zealand, full of bays, cliffs and mountains. You can even see the Misty Mountains over the lake! Plus in the way to the Rees Track from Glenorchy there are plenty of things to see, and is not an easy road to do by car. - TREKKING: The Rees Track is amazing!! but too long for my healed broken foot. This was the perfect way to explore its first 10 km without having to come back walking throw the same way! What better that after a long trek, be able to have lunch in the middle of paradise and come back floating throw the river? Plus you will be able to go by 4x4 to the very start of the track, what means, less walking to do before start (the car parking is separated). - LOCAL NATURE: If you want to see Glenorchy you have to do at least one of the big tracks and float in one of the main rivers. This is a must to see the most beautiful places and enjoy them as locals do. This activity combines everything! - FULL TIME GUIDE: Huw was with us all the time telling us stories about the places, explaining the local flora and fauna, and talking about things that are not in any tourist brochure. If you want to know the insights, you need a local guide! - BUDGET: From all of the activities in Queenstown and Glenorchy, this was one of the cheapest. This places are a little overpriced, but Packrafting is accessible and worth every dollar, plus you get a lot of hours, a private guide in a reduce group, freedom and laughs. - ADRENALINE: As the river changes all the time, it is possible to find from a very calm mirror where you slide and relax, to fast little white waters to have a lot of fun. Just tell them what you would prefer and they will recommend you a day depending on the weather. We wanted to feel some adrenaline, so Huw picked up a day after a small rain that was very fun! - SAFETY: The equipment is NEW and very good quality! They provide everything you would need except swimsuit and trekking shoes. Don't be afraid of the cold! We did this in a day of 15 degrees and never felt cold. It would be amazing in any weather! I am surprised that most people don't know about packrafting, is still a hidden gem!

An epic day hiking up the Rees with Hue and the team, with an even more spectacular and chilled paddle down the river. Hue was a superb guide, the epitome of relaxed, yet was obviously very experienced and under control. Hue created an awesome adventure for us, and provided us with top notch gear. Highly recommended trip.

Magical day out up the Rees valley. Huw is an amazing guide in all respects. Gear was in excellent condition. If you're looking for a great company to do a trip with, choose one of their trips.
