Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun e-bike ride with more than enough time for stops at 3 wineries. The views along the river were beautiful and there were only a few other bike riders on the trail. A lovely, peaceful day and the bikes were very well maintained! The trail was mostly easy to follow with a couple of tricky spots.

fantastic experience and amazing scenery - not too hard and even better in good weather! Vineyards are in close proximity and easy to find. Safe bike trail off the main road

This was a standout activity. Our trip was on time, our bikes were fine and the ride was above expectations. Touring Arrowtown was a nice bonus (highly recommend Provisions for coffee or lunch). The route was easy enough to follow and the scenery amazed us. Note, if you aren’t “fit” maybe pass, there are tricky sections and 35km is a longish way.

I had a day to kill in Queenstown and I thought a bike ride would be ideal. The ride from Arrowtown back to Queenstown looked like just what I needed. The reception staff were most friendly and helpful. I arrived at their shop at the prescribed time. There was a group of riders and we were mini-bused to Arrowtown. People were setting off on different rides. I knew parts were hilly and I didn't want to be late getting back to Queenstown, so once I had my bike and helmet I set off on the very well marked trail. I would advise that you take one of the company supplied maps. The bike trail passes through a range of stunning scenery. On the trail I only passed a few other bikers. You could hire an electric bike but I preferred a push cycle. It is no walk in the park and there were occasions when I dismounted and pushed the bike up a few hills. The last few kilometres into Queenstown were flat and easy to cycle. When I got back to the shop I knew I had just cycled 40kms. I was a bit exhausted but felt quite contented. I would advise taking water and some food to pause, have a picnic and appreciate the beauty of this part of the world. A wonderful day and highly recommended.

I had a lovely lovely day!! Sure, I love bike riding! I ride all the time in my normal life. But you will love bike riding with this organisation. Well organised, experienced, friendly. In short, it's a fantastic outfit. Josh is a great host at the beginning of your ride. Well done, Josh!! Must be hard after the 100th time, but you make the info easy to remember!! Take an E bike, especially if you don't ride much, but if you are fit, you don't need an e bike, but it's fun!! Glorious scenery. Many photo opportunities. There is plenty to eat and drink on the way. We went to Mt Rosa winery. Fantastic! Stopped for a gin tasting. Equally excellent.
I can not recommend this activity high enough. I would give it 10 stars I could!!

This was a fantastic experience . The team at Around the Basin was friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful I setting me up on my e bike and providing directions . The trial from Arrowtown to Queenstown is a fantastic and a good mix of beginner and mildly challenging . Shuttling to Arrowtown and biking back to Queenstown was the perfect distance for me . I loved this adventure .

Such a fantastic way to explore the area around Arrowtown and Queenstown. The scenery is stunning, and riding an e-bike made it super cruisy. The service was first class. Helpful advice is provided by the staff in the office, including helping to pick the right bike ride. We departed Queenstown right on time. The pre-ride briefing was fulsome and humorous. The gear was of good quality. Highly recommend!

Fantastic day out. Weather was very average but that made the ride even more fun. Beautiful scenery and an interesting track made the day fly by. Take on board the companies recommendations for winery stops. Team was super helpful and accomodating.
A word of warning to be prepared to get a bit muddy is the ground is wet.

What a great way to see the Gibbston Valley! Had an amazing day with friends & family exploring the valley & wineries. We hired e-bikes which definitely made it more enjoyable for the slightly less fit in our group aka me! Did tastings along the way. Highlights were Gibbston Valley Winery, Kinross & Mt Rosa. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out.
