Perched high above Queenstown, keen stargazers have the opportunity to access a 'hidden world' not seen by the naked eye. Skyline Stargazing will take visitors to a specially-constructed area high above the Gondola, where there is no trespassing light, allowing for an unbelievably clear view of the night sky. Top-of-the line telescopes give stargazers the chance to view an amazing array of stunning sights, from the iconic Southern Cross, to nebulas, planets, the Milky Way and other galaxies.

Thought that our experience was absolutely amazing! Our guide Jesse James was enthusiastic and awesome at explaining all the different facts behind each of the sights shown to us in the tour, and was equally as good at answering any questions asked :) the sights...More

This is a must do in Queenstown! Especially if you are from one of those parts in the world where artificial lightening prevent you to see the show that we have each day inthe sky. In any case, the guides are very celar in their...More

We went for it on a whim because it seemed a good idea since we can hardly see stars from where we come from (a brightly lit city). I certainly wasn't looking forward to it because it was cold, but they provide awesome down jackets...More

Did this awesome night tour with my wife last night. Our tour guide was Jake and he is an absolute legend who knows his stuff about astronomy (hopefully his boss reads this and buys him some VB or whichever Aussie beer he requires). Perfectly clear...More

Our family booked this trip on a whim, and we're so glad we did! The presenters were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. They showed us Jupiter and four of its moons, taught us how to navigate due south using the Southern Cross, and we learned plenty...More

I traveled to NZ with 2 other girls, one of them being VERY interested in this tour, and the other girl and I being hesitant because of the price. Took quite a bit of convincing. The tour was cancelled 2 days in a row, but...More

If you want to look through a amateur astronomer telescope then do this. If you want to get a good look at things in the sky then go to a genuine astronomy venue offering public tours etc. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgable so without...More

Not sure about securing the time, but I can confirm that when I did it in April, the stargazing included the gondola ride as well as the star gazing tour, and a nice hot chocolate at the end.

Go for the 11pm one. It's a guided tour and on a secure property so I don't foresee any danger as such. It's a sight when you take the gondola ride at night. Enjoy!
