Perched high above Queenstown, keen stargazers have the opportunity to access a 'hidden world' not seen by the naked eye. Skyline Stargazing will take visitors to a specially-constructed area high above the Gondola, where there is no trespassing light, allowing for an unbelievably clear view of the night sky. Top-of-the line telescopes give stargazers the chance to view an amazing array of stunning sights, from the iconic Southern Cross, to nebulas, planets, the Milky Way and other galaxies.

We arrived early for sunset views over Queenstown, had a cocktail at the bar and then went Stargazing with Christian. He was awesome! Using powerful telescopes, he gave an entertaining presentation of the stars, constellations and galaxy. Our time together flew by and it was...More

Ashley and Jenna, the guides were amazingly informative and entertaining. I learned so much about the night sky in the Southern Hemisphere and how it’s different from the Northern Hemisphere sky. We also looked at particular stars through great telescopes. Nice sized group. Awesome venue....More

Booked this experience on 29th Jan for my parents, my little brother and me. It is glad to know that they offer Mandarins speaking tour guide which is great. We were quite lucky that only four of us joined the Mandarins tour so we got...More

The sky in New Zealand is beautiful any time of the day, but especially gorgeous at night. The guide, (Christian) was especially entertaining and knowledgeable. Thoroughly impressed, would happily do the tour again.

I enjoyed the stargazing tour. We had a clear, dark night so we got excellent views of the sky. While it did not match the view of the stars I have had in other areas, it was a very fun activity to do in Queenstown....More

Izzy guided us on this wonderful tour of the southern sky. We had a lovely night, despite the super moon which was under cloud enough to let us view the stars. Izzy had great information and was good at communicating and involving the group. It...More

The commentary was really informative but it was definitely not worth the $93 per person. we did have good weather but all I could see was just dots in the telescope...pretty underwhelming and disappointing. I wish I had used the $93 towards something else instead

Absolutely worth the money. Got lucky and the clouds moved out just enough! Learned a great deal about our night sky. Izzy was a great host, she was very knowledgeable on the night sky, with some quirky astronomer jokes. Star clusters, the Milky Way, constellations,...More

View of Queenstown from the gondola and peak were breathtaking. Our guide for stargazing was Christian. He made the evening very informative and fun at the same time. He took time to answer all the questions that were thrown his way. I particularly liked the...More

We did the 8pm seating for dinner at the Skyline Restaurant followed by the 9:30pm stargazing tour. We were fortunate that the sky was clear. We had experienced a lot of overcast and rain on our October New Zealand adventure. It took a while for...More

I can't answer your question directly. However, I suspect that they won't turn people away. When we went there were two different guides running to stargazing tours on different levels. We must have had forty people in our... More

Not sure about securing the time, but I can confirm that when I did it in April, the stargazing included the gondola ride as well as the star gazing tour, and a nice hot chocolate at the end.
