Its very efficient service, a great ride and the views are amazing, its worth the trip just to see the views. We went early and were the only ones there so had the luge all to ourselves. It’s a pretty slick operation up there. There is heaps to sit around and watch as well eg paragliders. The souvenir shop was very reasonable.

Great views across Queenstown, the lakes and mountains. Tried the luge with the kids and it was heaps of fun. Will definitely return with a bike one day! :)

It's a wee bit over priced , but the views are awesome...I'm a bit chicken so didn't wanna be out on the veiwing deck for long... only negative would be the road works on the road to the gondola...looking forward to coming back when the gondola is running in the evenings

Although the gondola incline is steep, my sister who is uneasy with heights found it easier to cope here, than in Rotorua's gondolas. I think being above flattish looking areas of the cliff face made her feel closer to land. Also, there are maps in a stand in the ticketing foyer and staff are friendly.

Note that at the end of the luge it's unclear what you do. Here, the system is to queue behind each other until the person in front of you exits, you then move up towards the yellow line where the staffer is before exiting to your left or right (depending on your lane)

We went up the gondola and had morning tea in the cafe. The staff seemed somewhat grumpy and uninterested and the cafe food was dry and pretty average. It’s clear this operation is running on bare bones at the moment and will need to sort itself out once tourists come back in numbers.

What better way to get a spectacular view of a spectacular place than by going up the gondola? It was great to see it working again and to watch people on the luge.
It should be noted that it is currently operating on reduced hours and days so check before you make your plans

It's been a few years since I last visited and yet I found the lack of information at the entrance quite appalling. Clearly, others felt the same way as they dithered to buy tickets. I wanted to know if there were any walks I could do from the top of the Gondola but I wasn't given a map with my ticket and nor did I see any information boards. Eventually I found 1 but it had no information, just dotted lines.
Also, I noticed approx 50% of people wearing a mask but the current NZ govt rule states masks should be worn in a retail business and I believe the shop, cafe and public toilets should come under that. I know it's hard for staff to police but a few mask wearing signs would have been better than none at all. It is a proven scientific fact that masks do prevent the spread of the disease so regardless of the rules, it should be encouraged especially when standing in a queue for food or the toilet!
Apart from this, I will return as the views are incredible and the price is reasonable.

So be aware, there is no parking near the building you have to find on off street.
Going up the gondola was a bit scary if you don’t like heights.
The views from premium were beautiful especially in the evening when the sun is going down.
There was a range of dinner buffet options but I found more carby options then others.
The deserts were delicious.
After dinner we did the stargazing tour and Kelly was amazing. Very informative and entertaining. My husband and I really enjoyed the stargazing tour and it was the perfect way to end a great day out.

For a round trip $46 is rather steep and unless you book luge rides there's not a lot to do once you are up there apart from the Cafe
