Use the gondola and equip yourself seriously for the time you intend to spend up in the tops. With the right gear, you can even enjoy the area in mid-winter with crampons and ice axe. There are parts where a good sense of isolation and...More

This is a pretty challenging hike but TOTALLY worth it! The views are amazing. If I could bottle up the smell of the forest that you walk through, I would have brought it home with me!

Away from the hub of exciting Queenstown activities. We continued to the summit from the gondola. steep parts but worth the view. highly recommend. You need at least 5 hours return. we took the gondola and then started the hike.

Definitely not for the casual walker, but for someone with a moderate level of fitness, it is very doable. You can easily cheat your way out of the first hour of climbing if you pay to take the gondola up and/or down (although that wooded...More

Nice hike. The views at the top are well worth the hike. Go on this after the Gondola so you have so many different experiences of hiking Queenstown

We decided to start the hike from the top of the gondola (glad we did), and we were unsure if we were going to stop at the saddle or head to the summit. The view from the saddle was incredible but we decided to go...More

This was a really tough hike! We skipped the tiki trail because we didn’t want to drain our energy with a solid uphill through the forest so we took the gondola and started from there - from the gondola, the hike to the saddle is...More

I climbed Ben Lomond solo from the bottom of the Gondola and it took me the full 8 hours. After doing some research online, it seemed the consensus was that it wasn’t an overly difficult walk. I have a good level of fitness as I’m...More

My Garmin watch measured 12km return starting from and returning to the top of the Skyline Gondola. It took us 6 hours 15 mins with numerous stops for snacks and to admire the views. We didn’t spend much time at the summit... More
