If you enjoy a stamina testing walk for a couple of hours each way , then this is a must when you visit Queenstown, New Zealand. One starting point is at the Skyline Gondola, and the other is from Arthurs Point. At times the track...More

My nephew believes that because this walk starts so close to town that it would be easy, this is not the case. It's tough going for your average fitness person but incredibly rewarding for the views. It's a must do if you feel fit enough.

This is certainly not an easy hike. Relentlessly uphill for 2.5 hours, but what an amazing view at the top! Come prepared with good shoes and warm gear- it is cold and windy even on a fine day.

This is an amazing track with fantastic ever changing views all the way. For the faint hearted get the gondola to the skyline and walk from there. A 500 meter increase in altitude the the saddle a trip of about 1.5 hours. Another 500 meters...More

Very nice quiet hike, great views over Queenstown. Can reach the track by taking the gondola and starting from there. Quite steep going up so a moderate level of fitness is probably advised, although we saw people with young children walking up also.

The more you go up, the prettier it is. It was a beautiful day in Queenstown and one of the best hike of my life.

It goes up and up and up and up and it never seems to flatten out at all. So beautiful - so worthwhile! Definitely takes a good 5 hours if you are fit. You can make it from lunchtime and be back by 5 if...More

This was one of the best tracks I have ever done! We startet with heavy rain at the gondola and arrived with clear sky and sunshine at the summit. It took us 5.5 hours. We took a lot of photos of the beautiful landscape, mountain...More

This hike was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us as we were lucky enough to have snow the day beforehand which made the scenery that much more beautiful. If you are walking in the snow just be careful as the especially toward the...More

No debate - we wanted to go up the gondola anyway, and too good an opportunity to pass up on coffee and scones from the excellent Market Cafe at the top of the gondola. The track is clearly signed and straightforward. The views are great...More

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier but yes start the track from the top of the gondola. Take your time it’s not too hard to the saddle, but it gets more difficult from the saddle to the summit. The views are great even early on... More

My Garmin watch measured 12km return starting from and returning to the top of the Skyline Gondola. It took us 6 hours 15 mins with numerous stops for snacks and to admire the views. We didn’t spend much time at the summit... More
