Didn't take overly long 2hrs up and down walking from the base of the town (walking fast), amazing 360 degree views of the lake and mountains. Summer is definitely best time to walk unless a keen snow hiker.

Was a great hike and would fully recommend to any FIT individual. If you're out of shape, or have any injuries, then do not attempt as it is very challenging. The closer you get to the peak, the deeper the snow and the steeper the...More

I do this track every time I come to QT and the views from the Saddle and the Summit will never get old. There are two ways to get up there: 1. $$$ = Take the Gondola and walk 2. Free = Walk from Brecon...More

I did it in summer and I totally loved it, one of the nicest hikes in South Island. I thought the best view was to Queenstown city side but what is hidden on the other side is even better. Def recommended!

Loved the views from this track, didn't take as long as I was told either. The last stretch to the summit is more rocky and very slippery coming down in frost, ice or snow. Beautiful place!

This hike was AMAZING! It's one of my favorite memories from New Zealand. It was long, and I definitely couldn't sit down the next day, but the view from the top was worth all of it.

While the official NZL websites list this as easy-moderate, in the winter it is definitely NOT. Going up to the saddle is ok but after that to the summit, it gets really though, at times going through knee deep snow on the track. Bring plenty...More

After paying $40 for a 5 minute gondola ride to the start of the trail I was feeling a little ripped off (I have reviewed the gondola separately) but luckily the trail was worth the trip. Did the first 4km & it is fairly easy...More

I started the climb at the base of the cable car, walking up to the viewing platform, and then moving off up through the trees onto the Ben Lomond track proper. The first part twists and turns up through the trees, and is at times...More

The day before we had done Roy's Peak in Wanaka, which on that day had become my favourite ever hike. The next day it was beaten by Ben Lomond. 5 hour hike if you get the (ridiculously expensive $40) gondola up, 7 hour if not....More
