Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was looking for a Queenstown last-day adrenaline rush and the booking company got me booked onto a pick-up less than 15 minutes later. We rode out by minibus to Coronet Peak, met our pilots and had time to take photos while everything got set up. The paraglide itself was stunning with spectacular views and went by so quickly and there's an option to buy videos and photos taken while in the air.

You have to put this on your bucket list! My pilot Nina was amazing! She was professional, explained the surroundings and made me feel super safe ! We had the best time up in the air going over the snow. Words and pictures can’t describe how amazing the view was. Nina went above and beyond to record the best footage! Being in the moment was absolutely breathtaking. I’m glad I have these memories forever - the best winter experience!

This was a very fun and pleasant experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the flight. The scenery was beautiful, the pilot was funny and engaging and also a great tour guide in the sky. I was given the opportunity to fly for a short while and do some turns while w were at it. Towards the end, the pilot did a number of sharp turns and other aerobatic manoeuvres which i thought were great fun (and would have liked a bit more haha but im happy nonetheless).
My only feedback is with the waiting at the pick up location. We were told to wait at the roadside for about 10mins before the scheduled pick up time. Unfortunately the driver was about 10mins late (which i guess is understandable), but as a result we were waiting in the cold (it was winter) for about 20mins - and we didnt dare to walk away in case we missed the bus. Would have been better if there was a better waiting point or some other solution.
Nevertheless, it was a great experience overall and we were very happy :)

Excellent experience, this morning my partner did the tandem paraglide and I was a spectator. You are in the air 15-20 mins, taking off in the snow, very knowledgeable and experienced pilots my partner felt completely safe, well organised with a pick from Queenstown CBD. The photos and videos taken by the pilot were great. Highly recommend.

This was something I’d wanted to do for ages and I’m so glad I did it . Jumping off coronet peak was awesome and the glide down was about 25mins as caught loads of currents to fly. It was incredible. My pilot was awesome and I loved every minute of it. So glad I did it . My son jumped off just before me and he chose to do the aerobatics which was super cool to watch also. We both loved it .

Great, Nikki.
I am glad you and your son enjoyed your paragliding experience with us. Summer is a great time to come flying with all the thermal updraft we are getting.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in our beautiful little town.

What an awesome experience taking off over the snow from Coronet Peak was amazing. The highest takeoff in Queenstown we were recommended this from another couple and so glad we listened. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to do something different.

Fantastic - a one word review. Now filling in the rest of the review …. We went from the top of Greengates chairlift down over the ski field and broke through the cloud just at ski field height. Did some tight turns and landed. Fantastic

Professional right from the start. Safety conscious in their approach to wind direction and take off point. Additional tricks at the end were a highlight.

Hi,
Can I bring my own GoPro to paragliding and hang gliding if I secure it to my chest or wrist?
Tiffany

Hi Tiffany,
For paragliding you can bring your own go pro on a chest mounted harness. For hang gliding unfortunately no as you are wearing a harness that covers your chest. Unfortunately all other go pro attachments are not allowed due to our safety regulations.

Hi, should I choose a morning or afternoon flight if I plan to go during last week of March this year?
coronetpeaktandems
Queenstown, New Zealand
Hi Joy110211. Thank you for the message and interest in coming flying with us. Very hard to say when the best flying conditions are as it very much depends on the weather pattern that we will experience during your stay. We should be able to accommodate you if you leave booking to about a week before you arrive. Then we will have a better idea on current weather and can give you a recommendation.
Looking forward to flying you in March.

Is it 16 dollars extra to go from the highest take off site? Do you put that detail in the booking form? Now the video what is the extra charge and is it on a DVD? The photos are they on a thumbnail or hard copy and what is the charge?
Thank you Chris
coronetpeaktandems

Hi Chris,
Sorry for the late reply. We just recently returned from our annual break.
Thank you for your message and question. The photo and videos are the pilot's own business. They are at the moment NZ$45 for photos, NZ$45 for video or NZ$60 for both. The pilots take pictures and videos that you can view after the flight and decide then, whether you want to buy them or not. It is up to you. The footage will then be put onto a USB that you take with you straight away.
Hope this answers your questions.

Is there an ideal time of the day for hang gliding? Best for visibility? Planning a trip in mid December.
coronetpeaktandems
Queenstown, New Zealand
Hi Nicky,
Thank you for the message. The flying conditions mid December are usually very settled with good thermal activity. You can expect slightly more thermal activity in the middle of the day but all flight times should offer good flying :) check out the Book now page on our website for departure times.

Can I wear a wrist mounted gopro on the hand gliding flight?
coronetpeaktandems
Queenstown, New Zealand
Hi pointflyer908,
Unfortunately due to safety issues we can not allow you to bring your own gopro, not even strapped to you with any harness. Many thanks for understanding.
The pilots do have specifically mounted cameras on the hang gliders. They take photos and videos during your flight and you can watch the footage at the landing site and decide whether you would like to purchase that or not.
