Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband surprised me with this amazing experience and I have to say he did well! Not only was the location breathtaking but the tutoring I received from both Jackie and Mike was exceptional, as a novice they were both so patient and inspiring. I can't wait to do the next one, an added bonus was meeting a bunch of lovely people.

My wife got me a photo safari with these guys - and it was fantastic. Mike is an amazing tutor with a lifetime’s wisdom and practical knowledge. Very highly recommend this experience for any photographer!

Spectacular location timed for best light. Safe way to visit restricted sight with education tapered to need of the client. Magnificent location although the photographic insights would have been worth the day on its own. A highlight of my New Zealand trip.

This is the second opportunity I have had to learn from Jackie and Mike and I recommend them so highly. This week, Jackie's patience with me as I bumbled my way through buttons, lenses and tripods was so valued, and by the end of the session I had mastered so much more than I expected and reignited my creativity.

I can't wait until my next opportunity to learn with them again. And of course, they take you some of the most beautiful places in the world!

Have just spent an amazing day in Skippers Canyon with Mike. He was so patient as I stumble through learning the different aspects of my camera. A big shoutout to Mike who handled that very narrow track and then provided us with muffins and tea for a very appreciative break. Learning and exploring and then putting into practice. Thank you.

Having been to workshops with both Jackie & Mike, I cannot speak highly enough about them On a recent trip to Queenstown I was able to enjoy a day with Jackie Ranken in the Nevis Valley, wow what an amazing experience. I learnt plenty about my photography and the valley was beautiful, Jackie gave us her full attention. I will certainly go with on another workshop in the future. You won't regret doing a workshop with QCCP.

I have done 3 safaris with Mike and Jackie - a few hours in Paradise and leant to use my camera in manual mode, a half day in Skippers Canyon and a full day in Nevis Conservation valley. All are trips that need a 4 wheel drive and deep knowledge of the area. Jackie and Mike's knowledge, their deep passion for photography and love of passing this on to others, brings the area alive as you discover hidden places. Top that with learning more about landscape and how to see it differently and you go home with so many special memories. Jackie and Mike are world class photographers - time with them is always special

We had attended a weekend workshop in Australia with Jackie and Mike previously, so 4 of us booked into a 1 day photo safari before we arrived in Queenstown. What a treat it was to have personal tuition from Jackie, an internationally acclaimed photographer. The Nevis Conservation area was stunning - but travelling with a local meant we missed nothing and were taken to spectacular locations. Jackie quickly ascertained our skill level and was able to guide each of us to try new techniques and learn more about our individual cameras. We all returned with some stunning images and great memories of a wonderful day. I highly recommend the workshops and the photo safari. We also managed to visit their wonderful exhibition in Queenstown. Congratulations to Jackie and Mike, two wonderful teachers of photography.

What an awesome day out with Jackie! The Nevis Valley was such a contrast to the autumn colour and snow capped mountains that we'd be seeing for the previous 12 days. My only regret was that we didn't do the Workshop in the first couple of days of our trip to NZ so that I could take advantage of the new found knowledge that Jackie passed on.

A great afternoon of learning and enjoyment photographing wild landscape beauty with long time Queenstown resident photographer Mike Langford and a couple of other keen students. Picked up at the hotel (and returned) and taken to Paradise at the head of Lake Wakatipu with stops along the way to capture different landscapes with various lighting effects. Mike has a patient and creative approach to teaching photography for all skill levels (beginners and intermediate skills in our small group). His comprehensive knowledge of photography and the area makes a safari outing with Mike or his partner Jackie a most enjoyable experience. This was my third outing and each one has not only taken me to some wonderful places but has advanced my skills and enjoyment and I will be back for more. Great company. great time.
If you want more than a day trip I can also highly recommend QCCP's multi day photography workshops which in themselves are an adventure as well as a learning experience. I have done two and will go back for more.
