A full 8 hour photo safari into the Nevis was an amazing escape into Nevis, the landscape has enough to keep the keenest photographer happy. Jackie not only took us to some hidden gems that only local knowledge could find, but the expert and gentle tuition was appreciated as above and beyond expectations? Thank you so much - photographs will... More

While the scenery and photo opportunities alone would make this trip worthwhile, the added bonus was the great photography tuition from Mike, a highly experienced professional photographer and judge. I have been on several photographic tours and workshops, and this ranks with the best.

Mike, a very skilled driver and excellent company, drove us on the narrow road within Skippers Canyon. Beautiful, barely-traveled vistas were everywhere. It was a spectacular day. I didn't ask Mike for any photography advice, and he didn't give any. It would have helpful if he'd offered some tips, and I have no doubt he would have helped if I'd... More

Not only is Mike was an extremely kind, generous and down to earth individual, he has and enormous amount of photographic experience and knowledge. He is a fantastic teacher and makes learning the basics very easy and enjoyable. I loved learning from him!. Hi Olivia, Thank you so much for the great review. Mike is wonderful. I would be delighted to take you out into our wonderful landscape to teach you 'my way of seeing' and what I know about photography. A huge amount of people have cameras these days and take images with them. Our aim is to teach people how to... More

Skippers Canyon it’s called the backcountry of Queenstown and it certainly is. This adventure to this totally unique landscape with scattered historic remains of the old gold mining era keeps you on the edge of your seat all day! Skippers Canyon is one of New Zealand's best kept secrets. You will slowly travel on Skippers road, unpaved and very narrow... More

Hi Garry, It was great meeting you both. Skippers Canyon is certainly a unique place to photograph. The challenge is to make photographs that truly remind you of how you felt about being there. I believe that you did that but I also believe that you can travel back into the valley time and time again and you will always... More

I did his Routeburn tour and it was lovely. But be aware, this is less of a tour and more of a photography workshop. Mike is a former National Geographic's photographer and also a certified Canon instructor. His focus is really on technique and not so much on guiding a tour, we spent a good deal of time just setting... More

Thankyou Renae for writing this wonderful review. Mike is such a wonderful photographer and instructor I am lucky to be married to him. He would have told you that we also run 3-5 day landscape workshops based from Queenstown so, whenever we are out with clients we can't help but teach people as much as we can in the time... More

what a fabulous half day with Mike as he took us deep into the Rees Valley, navigating narly terrain that our hire car would have had no chance to go. My third time catching up with Jackie, last time was a 4 day workshop to Mt Cook in 2014. From sunrise to sunset we were on the go learning to see and compose photos.
