My wife and I had a fantastic time on a trip out with this company. We were new to packrafting, but we had a really memorable and fulfilling experience heading out in Mount Aspiring. Our guide, Jeff, was well-humoured, knowledgeable, personable and showed great professionalism on the tour - while putting the tourists' safety first throughout. My wife has food allergies and Jeff was very attentive to these from the start. Out in the national park, Jeff told us some really interesting facts about the national park and the history of packrafting in particular on this day out. The company took care of key equipment needs and the guides are clearly trained to tailor the tour to suit the experience level of the group and their level of comfort, while allowing the customers to learn and improve at packrafting along the way. As regards experience: my one piece of advice to anyone who's new to packrafting is that it would probably be worth picking the company's most novice-friendly course for this the first time you try it - but if you do, with this company, you'll be in the right hands! And you can be sure that you'll get to enjoy some pulsating moments out on the water as well as some typically impressive New Zealand scenery. Great job Jeff and team!

Not seeking the fleeting adrenaline rush of a zip-line or bunjee, I explored adventure day-trips from Queenstown on Google. I came across packrafting which included my favourite way to see the landscape; walking. Not too short and not too long. Being a tour that ran till no later than 5pm meant we could continue on our lap around the south island.

With no experience in this sport, we opted for 'License to Chill'. Reflecting on the day, I'm so glad we did it. No way would the conditions of our hire van allow us to access the stunning Rees Valley. It would have been a landscape I didn't know I had to see. Having done this trip, I wish we had time to do the Whitewater rafting. Definitely on my to-do list when I return.

There's a reason this is their most popular trip. We were accompanied by a lovely family with children aged between 8 and 16 and the kids seemed to have a ball. Fun for adults and kids alike.

Kudos to Jeff our guide. No awkward-ness whatsoever. It's great to have a guide that oozes passion for what they do. His excitement for the sport and landscape was infectious and had me pumped all day. Jeff prioritised safety, had great knowledge to share for tourists like us from the bus ride, to waterfalls and mountains hugging the Rees river. Thanks for making this a memorable part of our NZ trip Jeff!

This is the best tour we have ever been on. Our guides Leon and Alice are real stars and ensured we were safe, comfortable and confident the whole time. They went to great lengths to cater to our dietary requirements with a delicious packed meal and cookies!

It is a very beginner friendly experience (pretty flat hike, calm waters) with the most breathtaking views along the way. Pro tip: bring a pair of sandals to change into as your shoes will definitely get wet!

If you’re looking for a magical river adventure through some of the most beautiful countryside New Zealand has to offer, then this pack-rafting adventure in the Rees Valley is a must do while you are in Queenstown!
First of all, the guides leading this experience were amazing! We had Jeff and Leon as our guides and their warm energy and charismatic personalities felt so welcoming, and put everyone at ease and excited to get started with our day right away. Their clear instructions, and patient guidance throughout the entire journey made everyone feel safe and supported, and their entertaining and cheeky banter had us all laughing while we were learning the ways of pack-rafting.
This was my first time pack-rafting and I couldn’t believe how small the rafts pack down and how light they were to carry. The walk in was a breeze, a 6km stroll along the Rees Valley to the start of the river put in, the scenery was stunning!
The trip was the perfect pace, plenty of time to soak in the scenery and enjoy a leisurely lunch before kitting up and getting onto the water.
Pack-rafting turns out to be so much fun!! And not only that, it was such a neat way to take in all the magnificent sights of the Rees Valley.
We started the river journey with a quick sneak peak into a magical little side canyon before beginning our float down stream, staring into the crystal clear water to the rocks on the bottom, navigating and flowing through some easy sections of rapids, admiring the bird life along the rivers edge, staring up at the glaciers on the mountains high above our heads, soaking in the lush green native forest around us, it was a truly magical experience that we didn’t want to end.
We hopped off the river at the end, absolutely buzzing and wanting to go again.
This experience is well worth putting on the top of your to do list when you’re in Queenstown!
Thanks again to the delightful guides on our trip for providing a fun, unique and wonderful day out in such beautiful surroundings. You guys are adventure hero’s! <3

We did the license to chill. It was such an amazing time. Jeff, our tour guide, was patient, knowledgeable, and funny. The vistas was stunning and we found it a low challenge with a huge payout.

It took about an hour(ish) to get to the spot. From there, we hiked about 4 miles on flat terrain to get to the launching point. Jeff taught us how to inflate our rafts and went over safety procedures. We set off on our chill journey and arrived back to the car around 2pm. We made it back to queenstown by 4pm.

Overall, a great experience that I would highly recommend. We did a lot of things while in NZ and this tops the list for us. 10/10 would recommend.

We absolutely loved our Packrafting trip with Jeremy, he was patient with us and made sure we knew what we were doing and how to be safe on the river. Bonus was it didn’t rain and we got to see snow covered peaks. Bearing in mind were two complete novices who aren’t very strong, we were nervous about the trip, but found it completely doable and really enjoyable, highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience with Packrafting Queenstown on Saturday! As a family of four, we were looking for an adventure, and this exceeded our expectations. Leon was an incredible guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. He made sure we felt safe and comfortable while still keeping the experience exciting and fun. The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole trip was well-organized. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique outdoor adventure in Queenstown. Thanks, Leon, for making it such a memorable day!

This was a really enjoyable trip. The scenery was spectacular and our guide was knowledgeable and fun (I think his name was Leo). We had a great day out. I would advise taking insect repellent as the sand flies were brutal!

What an awesome day!!!! Picked up, driven to our spot, all our gear was ready, got a packed lunch to put in our bags..... and off we went. Very easy, beautiful walk and then rafted back down the river back to the car. Instructions were very clear, and some facts about plants and the surrounding area were given which was very interesting. Jeremy, Leon and Alce were the best hosts, very easy to get along with. Would 100% recommend this day out and would 100% do this or another trip with these guys.

This was such an awesome experience for my 14 year old son and I. We were able to get out into the ‘real’ NZ countryside and experience nature at its finest.
Our guide, Eliska, was amazing and provided my son and I the tools to navigate the water on the day (not that it was crazy).
I would highly recommend!
