Professional team looked after our 15 year old son who was game enough to take the challenge. A short bus ride and short walk to the platform area. Spectators pay $25 to attend. Opportunities for spectators to tale pictures and video, however would recommend purchasing the footage directly from the company.

My 19 yr old daughter and I did the Canyon Shotover Swing yesterday and it was truly fantastic! The whole experience from beginning to end was run really professionally with fun, competent guides that made the whole experience truly something we will never forget. We did it as part of the combo package, which meant we did the Shotover JET straight after with the tasting experience at the Brewery. Loved the Shotover Jet too and the brewery is in such a gorgeous spot, where you can have a beer and some flat bed and reflect on the action-packed morning you just had. If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would. Our guide for the day, Georgia was fun, relaxed and very competant - exactly the kind of vibe you need when you're about to hurl yourself off a cliff. Do yourself a favour and make sure you experience this while you are in Queenstown and use these guys they know what they are doing and make it amazing!!

The team was lovely and gave us a great time. Check in was quick and plenty of space on the bus ride over. The swing was so much fun, the guys made sure to give everyone a thrilling swing. Hope to come again in the future for more :)

AMAZING. So much fun. I was hesitant to do it as I felt I was kind of expensive for just a jump but once I did it, I just wanted to do more. You have more than 20 different styles of jumping and whatever you choose, the master make sure you are having fun at the same time that you are safe.

I was reluctant to do the canyon swing but my husband persuaded me and I’m SO glad I listened to him! It was so much fun!! We paid for the combo deal with the canyon swing and jet boat. It was well organised and we hardly had any waiting around between the experiences.
Staff were all friendly and helpful… particularly the guys working at the swing (Meg and another guy who’s name has slipped my mind!)! They helped make it a fun experience and had a laugh with us which helped calm my nerves!
We chose the tandem chop and drop option and had to watch them slowly cut the rope before our free fall…. It was insaaaanee! I think my heart stopped for a moment haha. My husband loved it so much he did another solo swing and rode of the edge on a trike!
Would definitely recommend this to any adrenaline junkies visiting QT!

Was really fun and exciting. Check in was easy and the drive up to the site was pretty scenic too. The staff were fun and joked around quite a bit but we still felt safe. The whole thing didn’t take too long and they take small groups up so you don’t have to wait too long for your turn.
There were tones different drop styles you can choose from, less choice for tandem.
The drop is pretty scary but the view is incredible, we even saw some goats hanging out on the cliff!
We got the photo package and was definitely worth spending the extra bit, they get photos and videos from a few different angles and they are ready to watch when you get back up.
Would definitely do it again!

Had a really good experience doing the canyon swing! It was in the winter, so the weather was pretty cold but the staff created a good atmosphere and hyped me up ready for the swing!
I did it a 1st time with my friend & then a 2nd time going down a slide- both equally as fun!
Special shout-out to Megan & Arnie (not sure if I spelt those right) who made the experience really fun & chatted to us the whole time.
Would definitely recommend doing this and if I find myself back in Queenstown i’ll for sure be coming back. Thanks guys!

I never thought I would be able to do this, but I did. .While I was petrified, I had the time of my life and even ended up doing a 2nd swing afterwards :) I have a huge fear of heights and pushed myself to do this. My friend who was with me is an adrenaline junkie. I can't remember both of the guys names, but one was Mike and he was awesome. I love how calming they are, but they also joke around with you as well which makes it more fun. I did the cut and drop as my first swing and what a thrill. Then afterwards I ended up doing a run and jump swing.
Highly recommend. It was so much fun. The only thing to be wary of is make sure you wear good shoes as the walk to the jump point from the car park is quite uneven and hilly.

From beginning to end the experience was flawless. Your staff are your greatest asset seconded by the scenery and thrill of the swing! My daughter and her bestie had a wonderful time and I felt reassured by the meticulous checks and double checks that the crew did on the equipment. Not once did safety cross my mind as they were so diligent!

Well the guy kept saying 'funions' and he called my front flip 'metal' (?) so I'm not really sure what that was about.
Anyway this was a rather freaky fall followed by a very relaxing swing. Like the good lord above was pushing me on swing at the park, but the park was a big canyon the swing was huge. I went twice because fun fact: a second swing is about 70% cheaper then the first. At this rate, one more swing and they would have owed ME money.
Look the price is a bit high, I think a bit TOO high, but it's still fun and I don't regret it.
No free promotion shots though cause photos and video would have cost me to sacrifice my entire flock of sheep.
Oki byeee!

Hi there, Visiting south Island next March and want to do the Canyon . Can i arrive by car, and leave again straight after? I might be short on time so the 2.5 hour round trip might not work
Written 25 November 2019
You can’t drive to it yourself. I don’t think you can drive to any of them around Queenstown. You park in town and they take you up on a bus. It’s only a short trip but the road in is private and no parking......

Two of the three of us will be doing the shotover swing and canyon fox...I just want to observe. Do I have to pay the full price just for the ride?
Written 21 December 2017
Hi ya. No not at all. We offer spectator seats for just $20. You can book this with the Swing and fox booking. Cheers!

Hey, I wanted to find out how long the whole process will take? When I have to be in Shotover St. and when I will get back If for example I will book 4:30 pm?
Thanks in forward!
Written 30 January 2017
Hi there!
Check-in is 15 minutes before the trip time, and you should allow 2.5 hours for the whole trip. So if you booked the 4.30pm trip; check in will be 4.15pm and you would be back in town around 7pm.
Hope this helps!

Hiya,
Can I use a GoPro on the swing?
If so what connection would you recommend?
Written 13 January 2017
Hi Jim
We do allow you to bring you own Go Pro, which you can use on most jumpstyles (some jumpstyles you can't for your own safety), so long as it's securely fastened with a hands free mount. Chest, wrist and head mounts are all good, but sorry no selfie sticks. It is at your own risk too. Hope this helps. Cheers!!

Can you do the canyon fox tandem or only canyon swing ?
Written 14 November 2016
Hi ya!! You can only do a tandem on the Canyon Swing sorry.
Cheers Dalice.

HI there,
I'm coming in a october in queenstown, but I don't have a car so I wanted to know if there is a way to go there by bus ?
Thanks
Written 17 October 2016
Hey Hugo - its real easy mate. Just hop on the bus from the pickup point in Shotover street. No need for your own wheels! Hope this helps.

Looking at visiting the South Island next may =, looks like the baby seals might be good to see,
Can anyone tel me if NINS BIN operated in May please and what else is good around that time,
noting that although we would like to see snow - skiing is not planned. (too old for broken bones these days)
Cheers

We booked the day before just remember it's all relevant to what season you go in. better to be safe and book early you won't be disappointed
Written 8 July 2016
Hi Collyn77!
Yes you are able to wear your own Go Pro with suitable mounts that are strapped to your body, which will allow for most jump styles. We don't allow selfie sticks however. With regards to a head mount, so long as this won't fall off during the swing or get in the way of any equipment this should be ok, however your Jumpmaster will let you know if the mount is suitable. Hope this helps!
Cheers
Dalice
